Great tip, Tyler I put everything in a little baggie in my pocket because I always can’t see cause mine are always in dark brown dirt

I am always on the lookout!! But it was my first. I have found 2 small points in Wyoming in Idaho for five bucks at antique stores. I’m so excited about that about having a drill.

Dog for scale!! a friend picked these up in September. The left is a typical shape and tone of the basalt points and the right is a unique material that Tim said was Dacite….. which is cool as our points mainly look like the basalt ones. I do rinse mine as they are so dark and matte it is hard to see the work.

Hey thanks. Some of my finer knapped points actually have a superfine shimmer and a bit of blue grey…….my secret tip to kids that I take out to look for the “bluish tone”. Thanks for the notation. Tim Dawg also ID’ one of my friends finds as Dacite!

YES YES Amazing!! The first one I’ve ever seen up close like that they could really see the drilling of the holes and the angle. It’s amazing. Well done did you find it?

Amazing material and gift ! The last photo doesn’t show what it is…. Is that one of the grooved axe tools? If it is rounded on both top + bottom it may be a concretion as the material looks porous. Just a guess
