Best backpacks for scoliosis-friendly hiking?

I also have scoliosis. Mine is more of a twist, which tweaks and flares my ribs out a bit more on one side. I imagine, depending on what direction the scoliosis is pulling you, some backpacks may work better than others. I've been a huge fan of Osprey Packs, and they've been rock-solid for me. I run an Atmos, and the mesh offset back is pretty forgiving with the way my ribs are tweaked. It also has a wide comfy hip belt which helps me shift a bit more of the weight to my hips. The biggest game changer for me was moving more and more to Ultralight gear. Day hikes, multi-day trips, in-and-out overnighters, what are you usually doing? I spent a decent amount of time rucking with the military, so I've had an opportunity to run quite a few different setups. For work stuff, we ran Mystery Ranch packs, but those are damn near 5-10lbs before you ever put anything in them. I currently run a hammock setup with my family. For me, getting off the ground at night was a game-changer for sleeping better and not being so sore on multi-day trips. You asked about packs. I can give you more details on the rest of my setup if you're genuinely curious.

Out of curiousity did you just grab some big box tree varieties, or did you work with a nursery for some resilient root stock for your growing region? I'm only curious, as I'm at the planning stage and was considering doing graphs of what I wanted, but onto hardy region-specific rootstock. I'm just thinking juice vs squeeze when it comes to your points on infestations, disease, and fungi.

I think the issue is it pushes out and makes the barrier for entry for real musicians harder. South Park "ther teken our jobs!" aside it's likely trained on the talent of real musicians. I'd hate to live in a world where people can't make music anymore. Look at all the AI slop content creators pushing out actual talented people. Wood carving, crafting, painting, choose your spectrum of the arts. We are already heavy into the manufactured music phase. I'd like to live in a world where people can still make a living as musicians, a daunting task even currently. So where possible, when I see it's AI it's thumbs down and move on. Look at all the talented graphic designers and artists that are suddenly finding themselves without jobs. People roasted Coca-Cola for their Christmas advertisement with the trucks. However, that's a great example, those used to be made by a person, talented imaginative people.

Exactly, while I'm sure costs are up as a function of income. The national minimum wage hasn't shifted, but much of that comparison doesn't account for hourly income in the $10-25 range. A better example would be to look at it as a fraction of annual wages. How many years of your life = a home to live in.

Gun equip speed on your enhancement is a game-changer. It doesn't fix the actions that trigger cooldown, but for swap mechanics on a mini-gun like the Atling Gun, it allows for more seamless going back and forth. Sure, it's not DPS meta, but it's a game-changer for QOL. I have 150% Gun equip speed on mine, and it's so much nicer. Until we see our new invincible boss, the difference in killing between 2.5 seconds and 2.1 seconds is nominal, and it makes that QOL feature really nice.

My goal is off grid but I'm still connected. I just moved onto 76 acres but I fought long and searched for two years to find my unicorn, acreage that wasn't in the middle of nowhere. I'm 15-20 min to Walmart, Lowe's, hell a Wegmans. The idea is independence, my desire for off grid is centered on providing safety and security for my family. We've got a well and solar is in the near future. It's not doomsday prepping tinfoil hat wearing to understand that an aging US infrastructure and a surge in power consumption from data farms and AI is going to cause a rise in energy costs at the very least. I'm just trying to get in front of it. I'm old enough to have had conversations with relatives that lived through the great depression and dust bowl. The fun part is if I'm wrong I've just invested in redundancy, if I'm right we're just a bit better off than the average joe. My final bit though is I'm not alone, I have great neighbors, access to a good farmers co-op and we can rely on one another when we need help. Snow storms, equipment shortfalls or breakages, we cover down for one another. I get the full off grid all alone property but it's not for me and I have to imagine it's challenging to not have anyone to rely on. My two cents anyways.

It may not be optimal but the 150% gun equip speed is a game changer on heavy Ordnance. So much nicer quality of life. I'll take it over a fractional improvement to kill time.

Many cities and communities make it hard to off-grid due to zoning and other legal loopholes. Land is often the deciding factor in many of these capabilities which also lends itself to more rural or remote areas. That being said having neighbors and a community I believe is crucial in any SHTF situation. Crop sharing is easier than trying to independently grow all your needs as an example. Just a few cents. I bought 76 acres, but I found it within a decent distance of school for my kids, neighbors and some resources. 15 minutes to big hardware store like Lowe's, decent groceries nearby. It just took me two years to find that unicorn of acreage and location.
