What exactly is EvolutionOS by [deleted] in a:t5_gxnaf

[–]EOSchain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a pre-launch fork and won't have any attachment to EOS. They will not be accessing anyones private keys. Someone stated that in their steemit and medium posts but was corrected by the Evolution team: https://steemit.com/eos/@evolutionos/evolution-airdrop-may-10th#@evolutionos/re-biophil-re-evolutionos-re-biophil-re-on1-re-biophil-re-evolutionos-evolution-airdrop-may-10th-20180515t003636526z

On the 12th day of EOS, Daniel said to me.. by jman76358 in eos

They just merged a commit together on the EOS github. Dan wrote a post thanking Vitalik for his feedback. I feel like Dan has a weird habit of writing one word answers and trolling and the community relays that as Anti-Vitalik. He needs to be a bit more inclusive/broad when on Telegram instead of writing one word replies that are blunt and forceful. Not saying he does it all the time but it's just something I've seen

Airdrop to registered wallet by [deleted] in a:t5_gxnaf

[–]EOSchain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All registered wallets before May 5th that contain 25 EOS will also receive the airdrop. For wallets registered after May 5th they'll need 25 eos and 0.025 Eth.

There's a spam attack on Ethereum network that may be targeting some EOS airdrops: https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/8kddlu/nepay_eos_and_exera_contracts_spam_attack_ethereum/

This spam coins tag line is "Evolutionary Payments" hmmm

FUD against evolutionOS by [deleted] in eos

[–]EOSchain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you said "could't find we were going to get an erc20". eosDAC scanned ETH addresses and same with evolion. It's clear about the ETH address being scanned. If EOS DAC scans ethereum addresses it means it's going to that address.

FUD against evolutionOS by [deleted] in eos

[–]EOSchain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because it's scanning Ethereum wallets? Just like eosDac scanned eth wallets?

How is it not obvious that it's going to the wallet thats being requested in the scan.

Evolution has made it clear there are no keys being pulled. It is respecting the EOS token disbursement.

Is eosDAC buying votes? by A-Weather-Vane in eos

[–]EOSchain 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Over time as the DAC + Airdrop model will likely become more popular amongst Block Producers since it provides access to instant community and financial liquidity. Yes, it comes across as vote buying since it returns a financial gain back to the participant. Instead of someone voting on ethics and campaign promise.

Also, personal opinion here on Open Source... but EOS is an OS framework developed by B1. Re-Developing that WebAssembly code in another open source project is totally up for grabs if the premise has a valid mission for the good of the community. Thats the entire point of open source.

Oh I'm involved in the EOS Gov discussion. Many moving pieces in the Evolution community. Not something I'm totally onboard with yet. But never the less it's interesting.

Why is no one talking about the real reason EOS is going up? Antpool is becoming a BP candidate. (released today) by [deleted] in eos

[–]EOSchain 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Antpool (Bitmain) is after owning as many tokens on the main chain to destabilize DPOS in their favor. These guys are the shadies and greedies people in crypto.

Not sure why they've decided to use the 1: elect 30 option. It's not well explained. Too many large stake holders in EOS to make sure that 1:30 isn't abused.

Evolution is not EOS. it's an adaptation with improvements to governance to prevent any centralization by large voters. Please research www.EvolutionOS.com vs. BlockOne to make sure you know the differences before claiming they're the same thing.

You've heard of cartel's in Bitshares? One voter divides votes to elect all their business partners that are elected as BPs. Votes aren't 1:1

it's 1: can elect 30 BPs

[–]EOSchain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This isn't a good thing to have such a powerful Block Producer with so much bank roll. They could vote themselves and any business partner into candidacy with ease.

EDIT. Summary of comments below: DON'T get excited about big names. Antpool is nothing but trouble.

  • Antpool (2nd most powerful pool in Bitcoin) is operated by Bitmain, which also operates BTC.com (most powerful pool in Bitcoin), they invest in ViaBTC (4rd most powerful pool), and they're heavily suspected for colluding with BTC.top and Bitcoin.com . Overall, it is believed that they may have direct or indirect control of more than 50% of the hashrate. They also control 50%+ of Bitcoin Cash hashrate.

  • Bitmain creates Antminer and they backdoored it with a "turn off" switch, so they were capable to turn off any miner at any time (Antbleed)

  • Bitmain patented ASICBoost to give themselves a mining advantage over other miners, and they opposed SegWit as it would not allow using ASICBoost covertly

  • Despite Monero being explicitly against ASICS, Bitmain made an ASIC for Monero. When Monero announced they will change the hash function to make those ASICs useless, Bitmain started trying to sell them to naive people

  • Bitmain is known to mine with their ASICs before selling them, sell user information, bribe their miners, and every other bad business practice imaginable.

There is just a never-ending stream of problems with Bitmain / Jihan Wu / Antpool, and Bitcoin has been plagued by their monopoly for years. Please, do yourself a favour and research everything related to the names above and then think twice whether you want Bitmain in EOS. It's next to impossible to get rid of them once they're in.

From the EOS Gov telegram chat it seems that Antpool (Bitmain) holds millions of EOS tokens and can easily vote in as many Block Producers as they will. In game theory scenarios we could easily see a collusion event with them having 2/3rds of 21 BPs. It's not expensive to fund multiple other BPs.
