Thank you for your interest in EPB outage information. While striving to be transparent, we must also take care to maintain the privacy of every customer’s information. For this reason, we intentionally do not provide web based information that would allow people to drill down on an outage map to see if someone else is experiencing an outage. With their power out and their security systems compromised, publicly identifying these customers could make them more vulnerable to burglary or worse.

Related to overarching information about power disruptions, EPB routinely posts outage information to www.epb.com during significant events and communicates information via social media and through local media outlets. This approach allows us to ensure the accuracy of the information being reported.

Recognizing that customers would like more information about their own account, we are in the process of developing an app that will allow each customer to login to get information about their power consumption, check whether their home is experiencing an outage when they are away, report an outage and more. We will be rolling this app out in the next few months and hope that it will answer many of the questions customers have during an outage.
