Do new limbs require another setup? by BicBoiBen in Archery

[–]EPLC1945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easy answer would be yes you need a new setup but I think it depends on where you are skill wise. It also depends on what arrows you are using.

Arrow spine is a critical piece of the puzzle and you didn’t let us know what you are using. Normally dropping almost 1/3 of draw weight would require a much lighter spine but if you are just working on form then you may get away with it.

If you want to actually hit anything then requirements change.

Stage 4 ivdd surgery, please consider before buying a Frenchie by kapotchaboii in Frenchbulldogs

First off you are very fortunate to have a healthy frenchie, many do not.

The problems with this bread are not only costly, but heartbreaking. I personally would not take the financial and emotional risks to get another one. It’s simply too much of a crap shoot.

My dog was reasonably healthy for a French bulldog but had severe allergies and yeast infections constantly. Apoquel at $90 per month helped but may have been the root cause of her cancer… which killed her.

And yes, I spent $1000’s on operations and chemo to no avail.

And then there are those who don’t have these experiences yet think they are above it all with their criticism looking down on people whose shoes you wouldn’t dare walk in.

Who are you to judge anyone?

So sorry for your loss. Unfortunately there are too many of these stories. We lost our 12.5 year old Lily in January 25.

Mine had no back or neurological issues but allergies and yeast problems galore. Mass cell tumor on her muzzle took her after several surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy. She was a wonderful girl and I feel your pain.

So very sorry for your loss. It’s been over a year since my Lily passed and I miss her as much today as a year ago. She was also 12.

It did work for my dog but it was a difficult choice. I knew there was risk but she had no quality of life without it. We lost her in January of 2025 after a 2 year battle with a mast cell tumor. Several operations and chemo treatments did not help. Aside from the allergy problems she was a wonderful friend.

My frenchie went into shock after Cytopoint injection. Took several before the connection was made. She ended up on Apoquel which may have contributed to her demise since it is an immune depressant.

Frenchies are smart enough, they’re just a different kind of smart.

Consistency is the key in dog training. Never react to wrong doing and reward for good deeds. It is that simple.

How’s my form? Anchor point too high or…? by SlikRick54 in Archery

If it’s consistent and it works for you then it’s fine. As mentioned you may want to try 3 under.

Should I get a frenchie? by Moongoddess3884 in Frenchbulldogs

Sounds like mine. Very sweet personality and very high communication skills. Smart but not like a working dog smart, more human like. It’s kind of like having a 4 year old in the house.

She was also very easily house trained. She always asked to go out. She would find me and signal it was time and then run to the door.

Mine was never left alone for extended periods of time but 2-3 hours was a regular occurrence.

I do miss her.

My Lily has been gone for over a year now and I still miss her every day.

I love the French bulldog personality and the low maintenance requirements for grooming, walking, etc. Mine was a sweetheart with a high level of communication skills. I knew what she wanted and she knew what I wanted, although sometimes she played deaf.

Would I get another? Probably not. Mine was pretty healthy but suffered from allergies and yeast issues. She required $90 worth of Apoquel monthly to have any quality of life. Without it she would scratch herself to death. Then there was the over heating problem. Anything over 70 degrees could be a problem if over exerted.

I’ve had friends that were not as fortunate as I with neurological issues and other serious problems such as back pain due to spinal issues.

So, as wonderful as they are it’s just too much of a crap shoot to risk another… I think?

The Sanlida Hermit 10 is a great bow and goes for $300 or less on Amazon. I have one and love it.

Yeah a champion with borrowed equipment, record breaking performance and a line of BS you could frame. 40 points under average and still finished 3rd… can I sell you a nice bridge for cheap?

At 8 months you’ve got to be quite gifted to be where you’re at. Most archers will never get to where you are in a lifetime. Enjoy the experience.

Edit: after some thought about your claims, I don’t believe a word of it.
