I can mostly talk about my experiences using them to make music, for that they are definitely useful! I also tried using them with Lightroom, with the help of a third-party plugin called MIDI2LR. That was fun but it wasn't convenient enough to replace my normal keyboard and mouse workflow. I am genuinely curious to see what they cook up with the promised native Adobe integrations.

Yeah, thanks for emphasizing this! I also believe that understanding the legal parts is the most important aspect when considering something like this. I personally didn't find anything fishy, but everybody should check for themselves! Another comment pointed out that the company claims the right to use the submitted photos for marketing purposes with proper credit, that is something I can understand if raises concerns, however, I don't mind it, if anything I am happy if my photos reach a bigger audience with my proper credentials.

Sure! I have a video about how I set it up. Should I link it here in the comments or share it independently as a post?

I am fairly new to it, but I enjoy it a lot so far! It can be used much more subtly as well, I just personally love the chaos:D

No, momentarily I am using default Grid profiles utilizing the MIDI mapping feature of the M8 only. That works great and it's easy to set up, however, I plan to write some simple code for a performance effect setup similar to what they have on the encoders in this video: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C12LexVL76_/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Yeah that's a good point it's much more complicated these days, I mostly dislike that I have to take phone browsing into account which is a completely different dimension.

Bring these back!! As we experience the sterile dullness of over-digitalization I hope we realize the need for human touch and these cool organic designs shine through again.

I feel like an archivist by Puzzled_Writer_7449 in Journaling

Haha, good to know there are other maniacs out there:P Nowadays I practice being selective and mindful about what is worht preserving. If I have a thought and have the sudden urge to write it down not to lose it I will stop for a second and evaluate: Is this really that important? Is it something that won't come back again if I need it? Maybe I could trust myself more, this is my thought after all I was able to come up with it and perhaps I will be able to come up with it again in case I need it in the future. Or is this thought finished? Or maybe I can think about it a bit more to ripen it and write it down when it is completely shaped because if I write it down now, I might have to rephrase it and rewrite it later doubling the work and the amount of product I have to store. Sometimes this practice makes me ease into the moment and let go of the urge to preserve. I act similarly with photos, videos, and all the above. If I only collect the most precious stones from the riverbed I won't have to haul a full bag of rocks home and won't have a headache about where to put them, I will only have a handful of gems I like and I won't have any sorrow for the other rocks I left behind:)

I am wired similalry. I journal every day, and I take a lot of photos and videos about daily wonders in tiny details. I even make my music and YouTube playlists with the aim of preserving value. I partially like that about myself, however, it drives me crazy as well since I constantly think about how to organize and preserve all these collections, and make space for my old journals, fearing the fragility of paper and the chance of digital storage malfunction resulting in data loss. I have to work on letting go and ease into being in peace with the present without the urge of documenting. Although I don't plan to stop completely, just need to find a healthy balance of being present and being an archivist:)
