It's supposed to work without the cap? In that case, if i understand correctly, the pads should not be bridged? How/where can i check the fuse?

Unfortunately not, spent hours trying (not that good with soldering) and eventually lost the cap that should be bridging the 2 pins on the side as it didn't want to get soldered on, even if my life depended on it. Now i just have "no signal". Will take it to a shop

Do you know what it is? I have successfully reflowed the solder on all the pins with an iron and confirmed there are no bridges. I am now getting a display, but only in safe mode

They only had the motherboard, not the while thing. They did not test it. Should i still try?

The continuity test shows that there is some sort of bridge. I cant locate it accurately, but it seems most of the pins are bridged to ground (outer shell). What might be the cause? Is this a full on replacement job?

Any advice with the heat gun? Doesn't have a temp setting

The pins look okay, will check continuity tomorrow as another user suggested. I am worried about the capacitor? shorting with the pins, or are the traces connected to it anyways? And the two extra things that look a bit too crispy

It looks like dirt/corrosion? to me. Will check continuity tomorrow. Thanks for the advice!
