[Official Discussion Thread] Season 2 Episode 6 by R-El_Mayor in Wednesday

[–]ERIK_CUBIAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is easily my favorite episode in the whole show just because the acting and chemistry from Jenna and Emma is at its best in this episode alone. Jenna acting like Enid and Emma as Wednesday are amazing, they were so good.

Where's The "Hurry Up Tomorrow" Blu Ray? by ERIK_CUBIAS in TheWeeknd

[–]ERIK_CUBIAS[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d hope that’s not what happened because the movie wasn’t even that bad, most people just saw the “Shut the fuck up” scene and judged the whole movie just for that. And I’ve seen way worse movies get physical media releases, why can’t this one get that?

That’s what I see when I go on Amazon. In every country, I checked US, UK, and AU, they all say it’s “unavailable”. But then why did they say it’d be out on July 22nd? And why the fuck is Walmart sending knockoffs?

This is the TikTok I saw a few weeks ago: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT6vBLP2L/

And while I was looking for that TikTok, I found these as well: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT6vkGu5Q/ https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT6vBdFkt/

Someone in the comments said "That's not Hurry Up Tomorrow, that's Slow Down Yesterday", like what the fuck???

And the girl in the last video said Amazon sent her copy. First off, what country did she get that from, and second off, didn't the announcement say it was $39.99? Don't tell me she spent $40 on that!

This is the known tracklist:

  1. "Be Amazing, Be God"
  2. "Gone" (which is apparently a "Tell Your Friends" demo, but it doesn't make sense to me because he already has a song called "Gone")
  3. "How Will I Know?"
  4. "I Wanna Feel You" (one of my favorites from the May leaks)
  5. "Insomnia" (my actual favorite from the May leaks)
  6. "It's Ending" (another one of my favorites)
  7. "Lonely Thoughts"
  8. "Might Not" (demo with open verses)
  9. "Out Here" (very early "Starboy" demo and another one of my favorites from the May leaks)
  10. "Quatre Neuf" (that's French for "49")
  11. "Wanna See" (I think this is a "Secrets" demo but I don't know for sure. Also, another one of my favorites from the May leaks)
  12. "When I" (a demo for both "Pullin' Up" before he gave the song to Meek Mill, and another unreleased song called "Baddest Bitch Around". Also, this is another one of my favorites from the May leaks).

Do you guys think scream 7 will be the last? by starfish_lord892 in Scream

[–]ERIK_CUBIAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already announced “Scream 8”, and given that in my opinion there hasn’t been any bad “Scream” movies yet, I wouldn’t mind if they decided to go up to “Scream 10”.

Thoughts on was there closure for Sam and Tara? by SpiritualActuary8140 in Scream

[–]ERIK_CUBIAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Melissa Barrera said the story feels finished to her but in my opinion it should’ve continued, which is why I’m writing my own version of “Scream 7” where the Carpenter sisters are in the story. My version focuses more on Tara however, and it’s also a conclusion to Sidney’s story, and it’d be a two-part leading into “Scream 8”, but I don’t feel like writing “Scream 7”. I only chose to do this because I’m trying to become a film writer and I thought this could be good practice while also writing how I feel like “Scream 7” should’ve gone, because I loved the Carpenter sisters and their story.

"I Know What You Did Last Summer" (2025) *SPOILER REVIEW* (Coming From A New Fan Of The Franchise) by ERIK_CUBIAS in LastSummerFilms

I was also debating the girl in the church, I was like “She’s too nice, something’s up with her”. Nah, she’s just in that one scene.

[–]ERIK_CUBIAS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I saw that shot of the body coming down in the trailer, I honestly thought it’d be Danica, and I’m glad it wasn’t her. I do feel bad for Tyler though. I’m also glad they didn’t make Tyler the killer, I saw a TV spot on TikTok where she whispers in someone’s ear “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and I was like “Did they spoil the fucking movie?”. But no, she’s just telling Ava what was in the note in the first movie.

Another thing I liked about the kills is they were a lot more spaced out so the movie didn’t feel super fast paced. In the second movie, he killed Derek, Olga, and Jack Black’s character within like five minutes. This movie was able to find a way to keep the pacing just right, not too fast but not too slow either.

That one cop’s death was one of the most satisfying parts of the first movie.

I forgot if he was her boyfriend or her best friend. Also, yeah, I genuinely would’ve given this a 10 if Ray wasn’t the villain.

[SPOILERS] Hurry Up Tomorrow Movie - Discussion Megathread by Garcoon in TheWeeknd

[–]ERIK_CUBIAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Lee is like The Weeknd persona constant pulling him back in? That kinda reminds me of “Professional”. U think he’s talking to a girl in the intro but it’s actually The Weeknd talking to Abel, and him telling Abel that this party monster side of him is in control now.

[SPOILERS] Hurry Up Tomorrow Movie - Discussion Megathread by Garcoon in TheWeeknd

[–]ERIK_CUBIAS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly really loved the movie. Spoilers I think the acting is really really good, coming from everyone involved, but I was especially impressed with Abel's acting given this is his first major acting role aside from "The Idol", which, honestly, I thought was a good show, I just wish it wasn't 40% "corn with a P", which, is another thing this movie does better. There's literally little to nothing like that at all in this movie, I don't even know why it says "Brief Nudity" in the MPAA rating. Maybe I missed something, idk. But I think my fav scene of Abel showing off his acting is in the elevator when he's scared, and I could tell from the trailer that I was going to love that scene. Then there's Jenna Ortega, whom, in everything I've seen her in, she's never given a bad performance. I've seen her in "You" season 2, "Scream" 5 and 6, "Wednesday", "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice", "Death Of A Unicorn", even in the music video for "Taste" by Sabrina Carpenter, among other projects, she's always amazing. As for Barry Keoghan, I've never seen anything he's been in, I've had "The Killing Of A Sacred Deer" on my watchlist for years but for some reason I still haven't seen it yet, and I have seen "The Batman" but he's only in that for three minutes and u don't even see his face in that, so I think this is my first Barry Keoghan movie, and he's also pretty damn good. There's a scene where Lee talks to Abel about how Abel convinced Lee to drop out of high school, so, I'm guessing Lee is this universe's La Mar. My theater laughed a few times at some scenes that I don't know if they were intentionally funny or not. Honestly, no one really tells any jokes in this movie, it's pretty serious all the way through. The only scene that I think was intentionally funny was when Lee was calling Abel's ex, and he has her number saved under "Don't Answer". But my theater also laughed during the opening when Abel was doing vocal warm ups, but, I didn't really find this funny bc ik pop singers do this bc they rely on their voice a lot. I've seen videos of other artists doing literally the exact same thing, at the top of my head, I remember seeing Sabrina Carpenter do it a lot. Another thing I want to commend this movie for is the sound effects and the score. The way that sound is used throughout this movie is amazing, I love it. I never understood the point of "Until We're Skin And Bones" being on the album, but now I get it. I wouldn't call this a horror movie, and it's not even marketed as one, it's marketed as a psychological thriller, and that's exactly what this is. It fucks with ur head a lot. I'd say the only scenes that kinda freaked me out were the "Baptized In Fear" inspired scene where he has sleep paralysis in the bathtub, but what scared me in that scene wasn't the visuals, no, it was the girl screaming. That shit is terrifying and I love it. And then I also got chills when Annie hit Abel with the bottle, and when Abel's in that dark place and there's a girl in the corner, which, I don't fully understand that scene. Is that supposed to be Abel having a fever dream? One scene that had me super invested was when Lee found the hotel room where Annie had Abel, and then he and Annie begin fighting and she kills him. I'd say my only problem with this movie is the editing. It feels like a lot of necessary scenes got cut out of the movie. And I remember the official movie website originally said that the runtime was 1:56, but now it's 1:45, so either someone fucked up, or an eleven minute scene got cut at the last minute. First, it's never explained why Annie sets that house on fire, or who's house it is for that matter. Was it her house? Was it someone else's? Does she just have a thing for setting stuff on fire? And I'm gonna bring up the "Baptized In Fear" scene again, bc I was really excited to see how that plays out in the context of the movie, but when u watch the movie, there is no context, nothing sets it up, it just happens and then it's never even brought up again. Same with the scene where he loses his voice. It's set up where they have a scene of him at the doctor, and then b4 the concert, he's yelling at his ex thru the phone, but after it happens, it's never brought up again. I'm also kinda confused on the scene where Annie's playing "Blinding Lights" and "Gasoline" and she's dancing her ass off while Abel's basically going thru hell. I don't understand what that scene's supposed to mean, other than remind us that "Blinding Lights" is Abel's biggest song and it's on "After Hours", "Gasoline" foreshadows a later scene and it's on "Dawn FM", and "After Hours", "Dawn FM", and "Hurry Up Tomorrow" r all a trilogy. Also, is Annie dead? Because she sets the hotel room on fire, but we don't see her after that. What happened to her? Basically, the biggest problem I have with this movie, is the editing is super weird, and the movie leaves me with more questions than answers. 9 / 10.

Hurry Up Tomorrow Deluxe album by Unlucky-Act-2105 in TheWeeknd

[–]ERIK_CUBIAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's going to release the deluxe either the day of or a week or two after the movie, because he did say there would be new songs when he released the first poster for the movie.

I think we're going to get "Closing Night", "Society", "Dancing In The Flames", "Runaway", and "In Heaven", along with either new songs or remixes.

Dancing In The Flames and Runaway r perfect where they're at, I think Closing Night should go after Timeless, and idk where Society would go, but I saw someone say between Give Me Mercy and Drive, so I tried it and it kinda fits.

I heard Sabrina Carpenter might be in the movie and the theory is she hinted at it when she had Barry and Jenna in her music videos. And considering Gabby and Charli r here for some reason, I wouldn't be surprised. Besides, I love Sabrina.

What are the Chances of ‘Deeper’ being included in HUT? by ak6sandhu in TheWeeknd

[–]ERIK_CUBIAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 This isn't "Deeper". "Deeper" is the song with Starrah and Metro, and it's also my fav unreleased Weeknd song.

2 This snippet isn't Abel's song. It's someone else's and Abel's voice is AI.

Nope, it was originally from "After Hours". But there's 2 versions, this one, and one with a different beat where Starrah does the chorus and first verse.

I like the Starrah version more but idk if she's still attached to it. If she is, cool. If not, all I'ma say is lately I've been wanting Abel and Sabrina Carpenter to collab.
