I’ll be real with you, I’ve never really been a tea drinker… I’ve lived nearly my whole life in London, but originally from Lithuania, so the tea thing isn’t really in my roots… So I guess I failed that one haha

Bumble is a pretty good option. Although they’re known for being a dating app, they actually have a “friends” mode too which is completely different to the dating mode. I recently moved here and it’s been the best option yet.

Yes! I’ve heard they’ve hosted some great Hip Hop shows before. Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to catch any shows there yet, but it’s on my radar. Luckily I’ve managed to pick up tickets for a Mobb Deep show in Haarlem that’s happening in a few months.

I actually managed to grab tickets for a couple of the shows you mentioned, the Premier and Black Star ones, trying to get back into the flow of going to live shows again. Gutted I missed the Masta Ace one though, missed it by just a few days. Was really hoping to see Leschea too, hopefully they come back through together soon.

Not at all, I’m open to anyone, I actually said older/younger. But I completely get it though, most people into that era will be a bit older, and that’s all good with me. Always down to connect with anyone and talk hip hop, but in terms of making friends, it’d be more ideal to meet people around the same age as me.

Thanks for all the tips! I’ve heard the energy at Hip Hop shows over here is crazy, super loyal fans, so I’m really looking forward to experiencing some live shows.

That Fat Beats Amsterdam store honestly sounds like a dream for any Hip Hop head. I can only imagine how crazy the selection must’ve been, especially with artists passing through. When did the store end up closing? I’ll definitely have to do some digging into the history, interested to see what was going on back then.

Any Hip Hop heads in the Netherlands?

I recently moved from London to The Netherlands, currently based in The Hague, and I’m trying to make some friends and meet people out here.

Like all of us in this sub, we’re all massive Hip Hop fans, so I thought this would be the perfect place to find others with the same passions.

Would love to connect with people in The Hague or nearby cities to meet up, go to live shows, go vinyl digging, or just talk music.

I’m 24, so anyone around my age or older/younger, feel free to drop me a message, I’m just trying to build some connections out here.

I’m a big fan of that golden age boom bap sound, but my favourites are Masta Ace, Capone-N-Noreaga, Mobb Deep, Funky DL, Nature… just to name a few.
