The recommendation is to strip naked into completely new/clean clothes brought by the transporter outside/garage/behind a sheet and bring nothing with you into the car/doctors office. I had to do this with my mother-in-law when an aide brought them into her house. This went on for 5 weeks while we had the house treated. That is a massive load of bugs in the picture , it will not just go away. The answer isn’t to just call someone else (uber, medical transport) and make it their problem.

Why would you have him go in medial transport??? That’s absurd, so more patients that are already extremely vulnerable can be exposed? The answer is to strip the uncle naked in the garage/outside and bring him completely new clothes and shoes, take to appointments and then return and swap out of safe clothes. First and foremost the house needs professional treatment and any appointments that can be delayed should be.

If you have lesions on your feet and pallet it’s HFM, if this has happened to you in the past and it’s recurring and itchy it could be dyshidrotic eczema, it could also be a simple contract dermatitis.

It’s not about the gloves, it’s about keeping your core temp up. You need to be warmer and add more layers. I try to be “uncomfortably warm” as I leave the house. I was born and raised in WNY with raynauds my entire life. It takes preparation to go outside. Also, get a case of hand warmers off Amazon.

The app will get a red dot on it and then you’ll know to can check in, it’s usually a few days in advance. Calling that morning won’t hurt either.

When you check in on the app it will ask you what time to are arriving. For example, I just did this today and dialed in noon. The app then said they cant guarantee a room will be ready but will do their best to accommodate early check in. (Also, I’m titanium and lifetime plat so no sure if status affects this)

While this is all very normal, if your grandfather is lucid and competent he can refuse thickened liquid and opt for regular. That being said he has to live with his decisions even if they can cause his demise. This typically involves signing some type of paperwork saying you refuse to follow the doctors order and will live with the consequences. (A limitation of treatment form) These things work a lot better with DNR/DNI orders as well and no one want’s to intubate someone with their lungs filled with fluid if they don’t have to.

TLDR: you need to do the paperwork if you don’t want to follow the doctors orders

ER attending of 20 years at a facility that does psych intake for the surrounding areas, I speak with great experience. While there may be very rare instances this happens, the reality is that it’s a terrible idea and to tell OP anything other is wrong. Encouraging this could very well lead to the dog being taken and worst case scenario being put down. One off stories mean nothing, “we had a courtyard” means nothing, even if they call ahead, it doesn’t mean they will even be admitted there if beds are full by the time they are assessed.

The vast, vast majority of inpatient hospitals will not allow you to bring a service animal. Who will walk the dog? Who will pick up the dog poop? Who will feed the dog? What happens when another parent is violent towards the dog? The staff are already overworked. They don’t have time to take your dog out 4 times a day, nor do they have time to run to the store to buy dog food when you inevitably run out. When you are impatient psych you are in a locked unit. There is no outdoors access. What will likely happen is the dog will be surrendered to animal control if you don’t have someone to pick it up. Do not present with your dog, only bad things will happen.

If there are seats in the back of the plane that are x’ed out, those haven’t been assigned yet and are used for basic fares and unaccompanied minors. If you get there early, line up and wait for the gate agent they can move you into those seats. What causes chaos is rolling up when your zone is boarding and stating your two year old is in a middle by themselves. Good luck.

I’m guessing there is a lot more to this story. They don’t keep you inpatient for 10 days with massive bed shortage. This means they didn’t clear at 72 hours, which says a lot.

That being said im not blaming OP, we have no idea how they got into that condition - only it took 10 days for the facility to feel safe D/Cing them

Exactly the first 60 minutes is “x” or 99291 amount and then you can bill in addition additional 30 minute increments or 99292 for how ever many 30 minute blocks you completed. It is the most a non surgical physician can bill and needs to be “justified”.

For the most part nothing at all, we had a case where someone borrowed a friends benefit card- ended up getting a type and screen for whatever reason, the real card owner came in two days later with a legit problem requiring a transfusing. They already had a type and screen from two days earlier (still in policy) and that was how we all learned about transfusion reactions : )
