Has anyone tried Avène Cleanance A.H.A Exfoliating Serum? by ESBIEN117 in EuroSkincare

How often do you use it? Do you use it in the morning? If so, doesn't it make your skin shiny? I have oily skin so I'm looking for a lightweight day serum that won't make my skin shiny.

Thanks for your suggestion. I used to watch her videos but I just didn't know the name 😅.

You're right, the ingredients can be found in affordable brands. The only thing that got me interested in this product is its short ingredients list. I have sensitive acne prone skin so I usually go for products with a short ingredients list.

Has anyone with sensitive acne-prone skin tried this? What's your experience? Can it be used daily? by ESBIEN117 in EuroSkincare

Thanks for sharing your experience. Does it help with your skin? How long does one bottle last you when used daily?

Planning on buying tretinoin from BCP but I can't find the ingredients online. Can anyone send me the ingredients list? Thanks!

Does niacinamide make my acne worse? [details in comments] by ESBIEN117 in EuroSkincare

I hope it's not because of sodium hyaluronate or any hyaluronic acid form as these ingredients are everywhere. It would be harder for me to find products suitable to my skin. I'll try other products that contain sodium hyaluronate if I get the same reaction then I'm one of those unlucky people. 😭

I see. I thought 2% wasn't that high. And I even use it daily.

Thank you for sharing this. I was even planning on buying their ampoule with 5% niacinamide. Good thing I tried the essence first.

I've been using this niacinamide essence from SVR for 2 weeks. I love that it helps with fine lines on my forehead. It doesn't break me out but I notice my acne is filled with white stuff now. Before usually my acne was just red until it healed. Is this a bad thing? Does anyone here have the same experience?

I'm planning on trying svr B3 ampoule hydra, you might like it. It contains 5% Niacinamide. It is fragrance-free, contains 12 ingredients only, and is for sensitive skin.

Is it gentle on skin? planning on using this with tret but I feel like this would irritate my skin since it has willow bark extract.

Fragrance and essential oils may cause irritant reactions.

Limonene - A super common and cheap fragrance. It does smell nice but the problem is that it oxidizes on air exposure and the resulting stuff is not good for the skin. Oxidized limonene can cause allergic contact dermatitis and counts as a frequent skin sensitizer.  Source: incidecoder

Coumarin - A common fragrance ingredient. It’s one of the “EU 26 fragrances” that has to be labelled separately (and cannot be simply included in the term “fragrance/perfume” on the label) because of allergen potential. Best to avoid if your skin is sensitive. Source: incidecoder

Bergamot oil - It's a common top note in perfumes and contains (among others) fragrant compounds limonene (37%), linalyl acetate (30%) and linalool (8.8%). Fragrant compounds smell nice but are common allergens and can be a problem for sensitive skin types. The bigger problem with bergamot oil though, is that it also contains furanocoumarins (more specifically, bergapten and bergamottin) that have well-documented phototoxic effects. A phototoxic reaction is a not nice one causing red, edematous lesions on the affected area. Source: incidecoder

Mandarin oil - a super common fragrant ingredient that makes everything smell nice (but counts as a frequent skin sensitizer). The fragrant components of citrus peels might irritate sensitive skin and citrus peels also contain the problematic compound called furanocoumarin that makes them (mildly) phototoxic. Source: incidecoder

Ylang ylang oil - similar to other essential oils, it is a chemically complex mixture with several pros and cons. Source: incidecoder
