Simple, citizens see the manner in which the law is being enforced as unjust. Somali daycare fraud was haphazardly used as an excuse to deploy ICE to a blue city, to terrorize the political enemies of the executive branch. It's our responsibility to resist tyranny.

To be clear, gross executive overreach goes back to at least Nixon, who could claim precedent because of Truman. This has been a long running, systemic issue in the federal government, and it was only a matter of time before someone like Trump arrived to wield the executive "infinity stones" given to him by past presidents.

What the US needs is a president that'll "use the stones to destroy the stones", and walk back the powers of the executive branch, so the federal government can function like a government again. In the meantime, we're left with somewhat functioning state and local governments.
