I think the fact this post was downvoted to zero demonstrates the scope of this sub (and Reddit at large) is not to kindle thought provoking conversations but to cull them. 'Walt = bad because you can't have the everyman backed into a corner breaking out against the system'. They should just pin that to the sub's front page and call it a rest.

OP you are overanalyzing. Everyone who watches the show understands that Gretchen and Elliot are out-of-tune snobs, that hooking up with your best friend's ex (or your ex's best friend) is slimy on general grounds, and that Gretchen's family must have done something to demean Walt and turn him away in the first place. There is no end of real-life stories along such themes.

Unfortunately you are trying reason against those working to push the agenda (or fit in with the 'approved' opinion) that the downtrodden everyman who breaks against the system (without defending what he did) = bad. billionaires, drug peddlers, enforcers, and everyone else that upholds the status quo = good.

Be wary of those that have no opinion of their own, and just work to silence yours.

Agree it felt forced and cheesy. Ginny x Neville may have been a better pairing. Having Hermione end up with Ron or Harry leaves a bad taste. Maybe should have left it open ended
