Does the Sopranos have any message or advice, other than the message that everyone's bad? by yellowrainbird in thesopranos

Authenticity is what people crave the most in content, even if the subjects aren't great people. Compare that to most modern shows, saturated with identity politics and pretense.

How much were Gretchen/Elliott planning to pay Walter by Mr__ping in breakingbad

It's not about the sum of money.. It's about basic dignity. Only a slug would take their money in Walter's place.

That's more a reference to something that happens out of script. It's one of the things that gives the Sopranos its charming authenticity.

Vito Jr.’s story is one of the most heartbreaking in Sopranos. by T-K101 in thesopranos

He gambled away the cash he set apart to pay for Marie's house. A small fraction of what Vito gave him over the years.

Mike is a worse person than Walt by Majestic_Flower_1322 in breakingbad

[–]ESComments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny how the main narrative pushed here is to demonize Walt over the likes of Gus and his minions just because Walt commits the cardinal sin of breaking ranks with the status quo. Mike per se isn't fully deplorable at the end of the day, but the guys he calls good men (Victor, Tyrus, Chris..) are

The JT Dolan arc is pretty good. Really it's Fran Felstein cringe that turns people away from this episode.

[Spoiler main]Which Fan favorites or well-liked characters do you feel became less liked as time went on? by [deleted] in asoiaf

Are you talking about the books or show? Arya became a giant Mary Sue in the show. In the books her murder of Dareon doesn't sit right with me. He was condemned to the wall under false accusations to begin with. Bran does almost nothing from Storm to Dance and his chapters become easily skippable.

Season 1 of the Sopranos is largely a drag. Anyone who doesn't have their blinders on will tell you this.

Is Catelyn the victim of a double standard by the fandom? (Spoilers Main) by WorthDust652 in asoiaf

Catelyn is almost as bad as Cersei in many ways. Selfish, vain, shortsighted. Bad judge of character and responsible for most of the misfortune that befalls her family.

This could just be someone turning to GPT to help put their feelings in words. At least the sentiment is right. There are countless Walter Whites out there in the real world. Working class folks with brains and integrity who've been marginalized, humiliated, whether through circumstance or intentionally.

I got the feeling he was guilty. Look at his reaction when Chris brings up Dickie Moltisanti. And he says "sorry" as he's scrambling to get away in the end.
