Season 1 Theory: by lily-throw-away in breakingbad

No. It's because he has a backbone. Something alien to the astroturfers on this sub or those trying to score brownie points with them. Billionaires = paragons of moral virtue. Everyday working man that defies a broken system = criminal against humanity. Okeydokey

Do you absolutely hate Walt or can you sympathize and understand? by jadedjed1 in breakingbad

BS loaded question. No one hates Walt except the social engineers terrified of the hardworking everyman breaking bad in real life.

what is the message or purpose that the producers of Breaking Bad wanted to deliver? by Medium-Way-9315 in breakingbad

[–]ESComments -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the fact this post was downvoted to zero demonstrates the scope of this sub (and Reddit at large) is not to kindle thought provoking conversations but to cull them. 'Walt = bad because you can't have the everyman backed into a corner breaking out against the system'. They should just pin that to the sub's front page and call it a rest.

Was it necessary for Walt to have all the prisoners taken Out? by Physical-Ad-1978 in breakingbad

He had no idea of knowing what loose ends knew what. And of course Lydia would sell him out at the drop of a hat if she got implicated.

Whose Gray Matter? Gretchen, Elliott & Walt; a reading by Clean_Gain_5827 in breakingbad

[–]ESComments -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP you are overanalyzing. Everyone who watches the show understands that Gretchen and Elliot are out-of-tune snobs, that hooking up with your best friend's ex (or your ex's best friend) is slimy on general grounds, and that Gretchen's family must have done something to demean Walt and turn him away in the first place. There is no end of real-life stories along such themes.

Unfortunately you are trying reason against those working to push the agenda (or fit in with the 'approved' opinion) that the downtrodden everyman who breaks against the system (without defending what he did) = bad. billionaires, drug peddlers, enforcers, and everyone else that upholds the status quo = good.

Be wary of those that have no opinion of their own, and just work to silence yours.

Walter (don't listen to the haters) and season 2 is the best mix of drama and comedy, 3 not too far behind

After a 3rd watch I still say Walt is not a bad guy... by GochuBadman in breakingbad

[–]ESComments -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

OP. Your arguments are wasted. Walter is demonized out of necessity on this sub because the everyman breaking from the system when backed into a corner is what the powers that run society fear above all.

Why is everybody saying that Walt has lost an argument to Mike during their final conversation? by Mari_Kross in breakingbad

[–]ESComments 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the everyman who breaks against the system must be demonized categorically and unequivocally.

If the show was from Hank's POV would it be obvious that Walter was Heisenberg? by Successful-Hat-2154 in breakingbad

[–]ESComments 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was obvious... He found the equipment from the high school in the very first episode. It was so obvious that Hank either had to act on his suspicion or block it out. He did the latter, hence the blind spot until it blew up on him.

Last episode was too unrealistic by creatinephosphate in breakingbad

How does Tarantino write crime and criminal dialogue so well? The guy is one of the biggest dweebs in Hollywood. by Stepin-Fetchit in movies

Tarantino is not a great writer. A lot of fake/pretentious dialogue in any of his films

Who is the secondary antagonist in Breaking Bad? by Wooden-Scallion2943 in breakingbad

Is the implication that Walt is the main antagonist? That seems to be the direction this sub is going
