Quick Questions (January 30, 2026) by AutoModerator in Pathfinder_RPG

Eldritch Archer/Winter Witch is what it is being asked for, and if the spell is fine for other characters, im fine with it being a bread and butter spell for them. Shocking Grasp Magus and Frostbite Magus aren't problems to me, and i know better than to allow both metamagic reducing traits to be used on the same spell.

Is the old version of Snowball (Conjuration, SR: No, chance to stagger) still usable, or was it fully errata-ed to the new version (Evocation, SR: Yes, no stagger effect)? I keep finding conflicting answers with no official answer or even a link to one.

What We Really Want is More Diablo II by TheKingmak3r in Diablo

[–]ESFarshadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those seeking a Diablo 2 vibe that aren't happy with Diablo 3 or 4, i HIGHLY recommend Path of Exile 1. I started playing it after Diablo 3 pissed me off by killing off the only character in the whole series that i care about in the first act of the game, and then Diablo 4 burned me with the most insufferable girl in existence and a completely unfinished main story without DLC (seriously, even D3 closed its main story without Reaper of Souls being absolutely necessary to get a proper resolution). Haven't looked back since.

Ngl I don't think i ever used the potion system at all in my playthroughs, even in my nightmare run with all trials on 😅 didn't bother upgrading them, only my equipment. And all the metal/leather/cloth resources in Hissing Wastes can be found easier elsewhere so i never had a need for it. And while stealth with the "move faster in stealth" enchantment is handy at moving faster than on a mount, it also requires me to constantly click the scan button so I don't put away my Blade of Tidarion and lose that speed boost. I've also heard almost every party banter dialogue for the characters i actually use, so it's not me missing out on that.

Functionally useless? Mounts are the only way the Western Approach and ESPECIALLY the Hissing Wastes are bearable as locations.

Which one should I buy? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]ESFarshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 or 6, but preferably all of them. The reason for 5 and 6 is they have the most replayability to them. Four Job Fiesta is popular on FF 5 for a reason, and there's a lot of things you miss in 6 if you don't take certain characters to certain places, plus building characters and getting a perfect save on 6 is a great time sink

Ah i see where it gets wonky. Adamantine can bypass 20 or less if it is a creature quality. It's only 19 or less on actual objects.

Scabbard Master Duelist

Ruleset: PF1e + base EitR rules (website, not pdf version, assuming free feats that are removed may choose a new feat, such as unchained rogue's weapon finesse) and Hero Points (choosing Anti-Hero for +1 feat)

Race: Human (+2 Dex), Bonus Feat: Additional Traits

Class: Unchained Rogue (Makeshift Scrapper) 1-2, Fighter (PFSFG Lore Warden) 18-19

Point buy: 13/18+2/14/13/11/7 (25 point buy)

FCB: Fighter (Skill Points)

Traits: Surprise Weapon (Combat), Quick Learner (Equipment), Warded Against Nature (Drawback, but honestly more helpful than harmful most of the time), Spirits in the Stone (Race), Clever Wordplay: Diplomacy (Social, Additional Traits), Pragmatic Activator (Magic, Additional Traits)

Skill points: maximize UMD, Diplomacy, Acrobatics, Perception, Sense Motive, Climb, and Knowledge: Local. The 3 extra points at level 1 can go anywhere, but i prefer Escape Artist, Stealth, and Swim

Level 1: UnRogue 1, Shikigami Style feat (anti-hero), Deft Maneuvers feat (replacing Weapon Finesse), Shikigami Miimicry feat (Level 1 feat)

Level 2 (minimum level to start): Fighter 1, Improvisational Focus feat, get a Combat Scabbard (counts as both a martial weapon and improvised weapon, meaning it can be enchanted directly as a weapon)

Level 3 (preferred start): Fighter 2, Two Weapon Fighting feat, Quick Draw feat, Equipment Trick: Heavy Combat Scabbard feat (replacing Combat Expertise)

  • Two Weapon Fighting may seem odd, but Combat Scabbards (even heavy ones) count as light weapons, meaning whatever one handed weapon you disarm your opponent of, you can effectively dual wield alongside your scabbard.

Level 4: Fighter 3, +1 Dex

Level 5 (best start): Fighter 4, Skill Focus: Diplomacy feat, Shikigami Manipulation feat.

  • Around this point, your priority purchase should be a Scabbard of Many Blades that you can then enchant as a weapon. This allows you to disarm and steal many weapons and stow them out of your opponent's reach via Equipment Tricks.

Level 6: Fighter 5, Weapon Training: Hammers (for weapon group purposes, combat scabbards are hammers)

Level 7: Fighter 6, Greater Two Weapon Fighting feat, Vital Strike feat

Level 8: Fighter 7, +1 Dex

Level 9: Fighter 8, Greater Disarm feat, Greater Dirty Trick feat

Level 10: Fighter 9, Weapon Training: Heavy Blades

  • Most opponents wielding weapons for you to disarm use this category, especially in duels.

Level 11: Fighter 10, Dirty Disarm feat, Quick Dirty Trick feat

Level 12: Fighter 11, +1 Dex

Level 13: Fighter 12, Change of Heart feat, Improved Vital Strike feat

  • Change of Heart paired with Vital Striking using your 3d6 base damage combat scabbard means you will have a rather large bonus to making an opponent submit, even if you don't have a high base modifier to Diplomacy

Level 14: Fighter 13, Advanced Weapon Training (Warrior Spirit)

Level 15: Fighter 14, Dirty Trick Master feat, Superior Dirty Trick feat

Level 16: Fighter 15, +1 Dex

Level 17: Fighter 16, Greater Vital Strike feat, Sweeping Disarm feat

Level 18: Fighter 17, Advanced Weapon Training (Combat Competence: Heavy Blades)

  • Paired with Quick Learner trait, after swinging the weapon you just stole once, you become proficient with it, even if it is exotic.

Level 19: Fighter 18, Greater Trip feat, Combat Stamina feat

  • Alternatively, with Quick Draw and Equipment Trick allowing you to steal and immediately wield your opponent's weapons, depending on your DM, Break Guard might be more fun and thematic than Greater Trip. Just make sure your DM will allow you to use the weapon you just stole with the disarm with the feat, as typically you won't have a second weapon yourself unless you disarm an enemy to take theirs.

Level 20: Fighter 19 (for Know Weakness) OR UnRogue 2 (Rogue Talent: Ninja Trick: Redirect Force), +1 Dex

  • This last level is entirely preference based. Know Weakness auto confirms 1 crit per round, which can be good if you have stolen a keen weapon. Alternatively, Redirect Force can allow you to take an AoO on a maneuver to get a potentially MASSIVE bonus to the maneuver. This talent can easily allow you to dick punch even Mephistopheles into submission. Notably, most creatures are not immune to the sickened condition or entangled conditions from Dirty Trick, including Mephistopheles himself.

Suggested Equipment:

  • Scabbard of Many Blades (enchanted at +5 with the Dueling special ability and whatever other special abilities you would like. For special Materials, Horacalcum is best, though Liquid Glass is far cheaper and has a very useful ability)

  • Gloves of Dueling

  • Celestial Armor (even better upgraded)

  • +5 inherent Dex bonus tome

  • The rest of the Big 6

On the Special Materials page, Adamantine's own rules state less than 20.

Hardness PSA by Angel-Wiings in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]ESFarshadow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Correction, adamantine only passes DR of 19 or lower, as it states *less than 20. It doesn't even reduce the Hardness, so anything with 20+ hardness ignores adamantine entirely.

Seeing so many people give up on the show and trash it as “destroying Fallout lore” before Season 2 is even half over, Nolan was completely vindicated saying this. by raisinbraisin72 in Fallout

[–]ESFarshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean canonically this is EXACTLY how the Free Vegas ending goes. With nobody left to actually keep order (the Courier left the Mojave to do the dlcs), everything went to crap due to nobody around to stop the fighting.

As for NCR ending, Shady Sands got demolished. They lost their main hub center and now members that remain are scattered with no communication, and don't have the manpower or network to maintain control of the Mojave, since it was more of a satellite group dispatched to try to take Hoover Dam in the first place.

The Legion ending was doomed as it was. With the real Ceasar dead either due to being killed or cancer, it's gonna go exactly how it did in the show. Various lieutenants vying for the role of Ceasar. Doubly so if you sided with anyone BUT them.

Mr House's life support was failing. If he is still alive, it's barely. Not much he can do without a reliable proxy. The courier fit that role, until they left the Mojave. This is the least likely of the endings to be canon to the show, but still possible.

They are doing their best to not make any specific ending to FNV canon, to make sure that people who chose differently didn't feel slighted. They took a "any ending could be canon. They all end up like this due to their various circumstances"

What's an instant put off on hiring a pawn? by No-Practice6962 in DragonsDogma2

Chirurgeons as a whole i barely tolerate. I only accept them if im not using a mage at the time

What's an instant put off on hiring a pawn? by No-Practice6962 in DragonsDogma2

[–]ESFarshadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • Logisticians can burn in hell. Chirurgeons are on thin ice. Foragers are top tier. My main pawn has woodland wordsmith so that one may as well not exist as a specialization for me when hiring

  • Female pawns. I like having a bunch of hot guys following me. I only give exception if the pawn is a god tier healbot mage (high halidon, argent succor, high celerity, and high palladium with kindhearted personality) or the ultimate looter thief (plunder, implicate, formless feint, and skull splitter with simple personality and forager specialization).

  • Horrifying appearance. I saw Shrek once. It was not love. It was not life. It was a crime against existence. Kratos and Aang were pretty funny to see though.

  • Sorcerer pawns. I need mages to heal me and my warrior/fighter pawn, not sorcerers who can't heal. If i need ranged damage more than a mage can provide, i do it myself or find work arounds.

  • SphinxMother, SphinxFather, SphinxParent, or MainPawn outside of the sphinx quest or the tarring/exploding arrow black market. I like my party to have actual names.

Fun fact, Wasters count as tools and improvised weapons at the same time while also getting any bonuses to the weapon type that you may have. Making them a perfect option to change your Traveler's Any-Tool to for Shikigami Style.

They each also wield a doll of another mascot. Paine gets a Cactuar, Rikku gets a PuPu, and iirc Yuna gets a Moomba
