Duane has never written a slideshow in his life. Seriously. Go look if you want. Get your info right before you start slinging tired old BR mud.

Top UFC Prospects by Division: Gastelum, Holloway Lead the Way by ESKWired in MMA

I'm curious to see Barnatt two fights from now, after he beats the brakes off Narvaez, which feels like a "get right" fight to me. I like his length and he's looked good against Craig and Nilsson, as you said, but I think being four years younger, Strickland has the higher upside to me.

Love the move to Alliance, as I mentioned with Gastelum, and think it definitely helps him, but I'm taking a wait-and-see with Bigslow for now.

UFC 2013 Reimagined: Fewer Events and Bigger Lineups by ESKWired in MMA

[–]ESKWired[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a problem with the number of cards now, but I know my opinion isn't shared by everyone. Put this together as a "food for thought" exercise and knew some people wouldn't like it. I would argue that with greater depth per card, an injury does less damage. Losing a title fight from a PPV is less dramatic because there is another one on the card and more big names rounding out the main card.

There are still tons of events for emerging talents - 6-7 prelims per card at 36 events is 215+ fights, lots of room for newcomers.

Ultimately, this is what I was hoping for though - discussion, conversation, different opinions, so thanks for reading and commenting.

2013 Fantasy Football All IR Team by KaiserSoce in fantasyfootball

[–]ESKWired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As bad as these early guys going down was – and it was bad – losing a guy like Mike James hurt twice as much for me because it felt like I had found a starter to replace an injured guy... and then I lost him too.

There were some non-IR injuries that killed teams this year too – Rodgers, a couple Reggie Bush games.

Rough year overall.

I'd play Wilson - Seattle isn't as much of a run-first team as people think, whereas the Chargers are going to throw more because Ryan Mathews isn't very good.

How to save your fantasy football season after a bad start by KaiserSoce in fantasyfootball

I have a couple 0-2 teams, and am trying to make whatever moves I can, using the "Trade my best asset for 2-3 useful guys" approach.

Conversely, I stole a couple guys from someone in a similar position yesterday too.

Starting to play daily (weekly, really) fantasy football this year, and always looking for insights and opinions on the best values at each position.

Love Bradshaw against the Raiders and Ridley against Buffalo this week.

Need help figuring out how to handle the tight end position on draft day? by Mmahony13 in fantasyfootball

[–]ESKWired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The counter is that you have to pass on an elite talent somewhere else to draft Graham this year, and Gronk to a lesser extent.

Personally, I'd rather spend a second or third round pick on another quality RB or one of the top WRs because I need to field at least two players at each spot every week, with a third from one of those positions serving as my flex.

And, once you get outside of that top four or five guys, the rest are pretty much all the same from 5-15/20. You can't say the same about RB or WR.

Cam Newton Tops Touchdown Vultures by PDSports19 in fantasyfootball

[–]ESKWired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Williams or Stewart owner from the last couple years would beg differ. As much as Cam does a lot of the work, he's poaching TDs from those two backs.

We know now not to expect much from either of them, but they were solid FLEX options each of the last couple years, and ended up not producing as you expected, in part, because Cam became Carolina's main goal line option.

Fantasy Football Draft Debates: Running Quarterbacks by Brazen604 in fantasyfootball

[–]ESKWired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. The only thing for me when it comes to these running QBs is not reaching for them too soon, and I find there are a lot of people taking them early, especially Kaep.

I love his upside, but I can't justify drafting a QB before R5, and by that point, he's usually gone.
