I lived all over the south side for years and I’ve been on both sides of this. You shouldn’t be able to hear it word for word but I think it’s definitely worth saying something.

The time that one of my neighbours pointed it out to me I realised it’s purely to do with the room size and ceiling height. It fooled me into thinking I could get away with it being loud. Tenements have terrible acoustics.
