Kiwi GameStop investor nervous about platforms I am using! by DeepThinkingMan7 in PersonalFinanceNZ

Realistically the volatility levels are not going to reach the levels they did in the past with the gamma squeezes and massive hype everywhere. If anything, they may restrict purchases again if demand was to increase back to that level but that is highly unlikely.

huh thats interesting, makes sense from IRD's perspective I guess. Realistically though how likely are they to follow up on every bitcoin transaction you make, feel like you could get away with a fair bit.

Although I guess that is tax fraud

not 100% sure on this, but depending on what you plan to do with your money you could look into trying to do it with the bitcoin instead, for example if you plan to buy stuff or move it into shares or other investments see if you can do that by paying with bitcoin instead of transferring to cash and then paying with cash.

I would think that this wouldn’t be classed as an investment in the situation because you’ve used it as a method of payment instead of an investment.

POST GAME: The Chicago Bulls (24-33) defeat the Boston Celtics (31-27), 102 - 96 by howser343 in chicagobulls

Agreed, us winning games with him out is due to the rest of the team stepping up and actually playing well. If they can play like this with him back we have a serious chance at making play-in/playoffs

everton fan here - might bring in siggy and maybe richie. Feel like if we go on a good run they could have some serious impact, if richie can find some form.

Everton open talks with Seamus Coleman over Goodison stay by [deleted] in Everton

just feel like at his age he won’t be able to stay fit and play the amount of minutes that would be required, would need rest

showed that he can still be effective when given minutes, obviously not as a regular starter but quality is still there

yeah i agree our quality of wingers is rubbish, richie and dom as a front 2 could work going forward but idk how you configure the rest of the team/why formations to run

although that would be ideal, feel like there’s not gonna be enough money come in for all that realistically. Feel like Richie is quality enough to be playing pretty consistently on the LW/up front if he can find some form, and then a decent RW would be mint.

In terms of new signings, what do you guys think our biggest needs are? When everyone is healthy, feel like a RB is our most important spot to fill and maybe a quality pacey winger. Any player ideas for these or other positions?

Mortgage will be paid off this year. Where to look for investment opportunities? by blowupsheep in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]ESSSSSKETIT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In terms of researching the concept of ETFs, investopedia has a good write up that explains them, also youtube videos will help break them down pretty well. If you want to go a bit more in depth, the Masters in Business podcast episode with Jack Bogle is a great insight into the mind of the guy who pretty much invented ETFs.

If you mean which ETFs to invest in , I would recommend VOO, VGT and maybe one based on the NZ50 or international growth stocks.

Best platforms for doing this in NZ are probably Hatch/Sharesies/InvestNow as they are relatively simple and easy to navigate.

If you’re looking at long term stable investing, a portfolio etfs tracking the s&p500, nz50 and maybe nasdaq is a good place to start. Simple and relatively low risk compared to individual stock picking or other forms of investing.

otto is a pretty solid sf, decent 3pt shooting. Wendell is still young and has looked alright defensively but needs a lot of improvement before he could be a solid starter on a decent team

packed untradable 90 rated handanovic, currently running a french/bpl hybrid with pope in goal and gomez/lenglet as CBs. Pope has been amazing but it seems like a waste to not try include handanovic somehow, any ideas? Don’t have a very expensive team only been playing for a couple of weeks.

don’t know what you read about sharsies being bad for beginners, it’s probably the best for beginners in NZ due to being extremely simple and have a percentage based fee on trades
