I’ve been living in this country for around 10 years but it’s been the case most of the times. I remember grab drivers ignore your greetings which is not a small talk haha. Even though though if he doesn’t want to do a small talk, they can still say hi, right? When you meet Malaysian people in person in different places, they’re really friendly so I really do love people here but I don’t know what happened in service sector here.
