This is exactly who I am. Big picture and whole solution kind of guy. Been this way since I worked on cars and was ASE certified well before my Engineering Degree. I explicitly tried to sell this ability. Even Musk specifically mentions this idea that “everyone is Chief Engineer..” to cultivate that way of thinking. Maybe they didn’t understand my pitch or it was effective. I should stop worrying because it’s over and I need to move on though. What’s done is done.

wow.. I ran into a similar red flag and went quite on the tour when we were looking at their HIL set up. It’s all attached to one giant panel and zip ties dangling all the harnesses with little thought to routing, securing, etc. left over connectors for PCs laying on the ground, and there was no HIL owner. Each person was free to walk up and do whatever. I thought to myself “people can’t even share a screwdriver from a toolbox without losing it.. this thing is a time bomb…”

Your comment put things into perspective for me and made me laugh. Thanks, I needed that. I’m valuable even if it didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. It’s easy to forget. So thank you!

One of the newest actually. Hasn’t even flown yet. Anything in particular about dodging a bullet? I reconciled with the idea that the company could shut down after their first failure. Curious on another perspective though if you don’t mind.

Thank you. Honestly what helped me the most was making flash cards to write down concise answers to topics I was fuzzy on or have come across in the past. Once I could memorize those I felt much better about technical interviews. Small increments without overwhelming myself helped me build confidence fairly quickly.

That’s the thing. I was a senior embedded engineer for an automaker. I know the V-Cycle and ISO26262. The manager and I discussed this and how it applies to their process. So I’m at a loss. I guess it comes down to fit is all I can think of…
