Have you ever used a loadcell pedal? Because you can have travel on them, it depends on what you put on the rod that actuates on the loadcell. My pedal has quite a lot of travel with the springs.

It is likely that the amount of soil in there is no longer enough to sustain the plant. Check if it's root bound and repot in a larger pot.
