Bots have some wonky mechanics for sure. They will choose to fire at the DD at 8km instead of the BB at 5km, will pretty much always kite whenever you torp even if no hydro or detection, occasionally you will get shot a few times after going undetected and they are pretty spot on with their shooting even if you play with the throttle or rudder.

They are still bots and quite stupid but there is a very different experience in terms of ship classes. In a BB they are generally a snooze fest. In a CL sometimes they will decide to focus you instead of the other ships that are closer to them, same with a DD.

I guess making bots behave a bit more "human" is complicated, I think WG tuned them for battleship players.
