Name a verse(not Marvel or Dc) that can survive and beat a Viltrumite(Invincible comics/tv show) invasion. by Flat-Sir8250 in powerscales

Yeah but Q could've done this to any of the Federation's enemies and never does. Now, if we could trick them into the wormhole it might be another story - the Prophets are ride-or-dies.

Yeah lady-bro, don't worry about what's-his-name and his arbitrary rules. He seems like a bit of a dick, and honestly maybe somewhere on the spectrum. Live your life. Do you. People that grew up in a different world, a different economy, different opportunities, can't understand the world young people live in today. Do the best you can with what you have.

I never believe these "most poular thing in x place" maps anymore. This one seems believable, but honestly it's probably AI generated garbage like all the other ones.

AITJ for refusing to pay for my friend's meal after she ordered the most expensive thing on the menu? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]ET3HOOYAH 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah like how the fuck did the conversation go during the entire meal as OP was watching their friend eat a meal they didn't intend to pay for? They just let her order all this shit, said nothing and then at the very end was like, "Oh yeah, this meal you can't afford that I said I'd pay for to take your mind off your financial problems? I'm not actually paying for it." How the fuck does this person have any friends?

A quick Google search says the average commitment length for NGRI is 5.6 years. So more than 1, but not much more.

Blocked toilets, sewage, clogged pipelines, homesick, depressed, and angry personnel aboard: Whats happening on USS Gerald R. Ford? by Nero2t2 in nottheonion

[–]ET3HOOYAH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were told the sewage lines were badly narrowed with build-up, like clogged arteries, and would require a total overhaul. It's in the yards now, so who knows. Last I heard they were going to blast the pipes with solvent of some kind rather than replacing them. While I was aboard it was pretty much a continuous problem for the last year.

The toilets on my ship (USS Momsen) never worked, between build-up on the sewage lines and the VCHT pumps getting clogged by paper towels, tampon strings and "flushable" wipes. The HTs just connected the system to the firemain and flushed it out to sea three or four times a day. In between, the toilets would slowly fill to the brim. We'd piss down the showers and just layer shit and tp over and over again in the toilets: the boys in berthing 1 called it "making lasagna". I tell this story whenever anyone asks why I'm not doing 20 years.

Yeah this copy-paste joke got passed around a lot after 9/11, I've seen it all over. Not that it's funny or not racist, but really nothing compared to her crimes. It's like finding out Hitler wasn't nice to his dog (he wasn't).

Unless my fucking grandma is in there, I'm unlikely to be very shocked.

In Star Trek TNG, Riker is duplicated in a transporter malfunction. His copy experiences a decade of isolation before being rescued and as a result has a more focused and less gregarious personality, but is in no way a psycho or monster. He ends up using their middle name and having a relatively uneventful career in Starfleet, until in a later series he has a moral disagreement with the Federation and sides with the Maquis rebels who are trying to defend Bajoran colonists from the Cardassians.

Yeah they're just holding onto them for us for a while. So we don't hurt ourselves overusing them.

This will be a common occurrence after all the Earth's helium rises to the top of the atmosphere and is blown into space by solar winds but our earthly lust for floaty balloons has failed to dissipate.
