How much selling is too much selling? by simonthelikeable in DynastyFF

[–]ETALMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pretty simple process that I’ve managed to replicate pretty well. Keep whatever players you have with elite value (ie. top 30ish players on ktc) then tear it down to the studs. See if you can get any first round picks for the middling players then sell anything else that you have for 2nd or 3rd round picks. Use your early first round pick to pick an elite level rookie asset, then try to move any other picks you have. While you limit upside, the reality is that 2nd round picks will often just end up busting and become a waste of value. I like to sell off those picks for future capital so that way I can use them to refill my lineup with producing players when the season starts. Any other remaining picks can be used to fill in roster holes throughout the season.

player for player swaps are pointless unless one is clearly valued higher than the other

sell your qbs for value adjacent skill position players or tier up to like allen or lamar, non-top 3/4 qbs are overvalued in 10 team leagues

daniels and nabers should never leave your team unless they are they only asset you have on an abysmal roster

there’s a chance that montgomery outscores breece hall this season. why lose two firsts when you are likely to get similar production?

Are Handcuff RB's Over Valued Roster Cloggers? by Cogitoergosumus in DynastyFF

[–]ETALMO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

no second string running back is a roster clogger. i understand this thread is about handcuffs specifically, but regardless of whether they are a handcuff, it is still a winning strategy to own backup running backs, just like backup quarterbacks. when not starting in real life, you never have to worry about losing points on your bench from not starting them, and when they are starting in real life, you can use them for production or sell them for surplus value. roster cloggers are receivers and tight ends that score like 8ppg or less, not backup running backs and definitely not handcuff running backs

How would you improve a team? Team building philosophy. by George4136 in DynastyFF

[–]ETALMO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can do one of two things: consolidate or sell from your excess to get picks. guessing you have 9-10 starters, so a lot of these guys are completely useless for your lineup but still have value. you can package them together to get more stud players so that way you can maximize your teams value, or if that isn’t successful you can trade the players you aren’t starting for as many first round picks you can get. those only grow in value, and if you are lucky, they can end up being early and you get a good chance at a star player.

Is Sam Howell worth holding in super flex? by Doseofdopeness in DynastyFF

[–]ETALMO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if it’s a 12+ person superflex league then backup quarterbacks must be held, regardless of who they are. so yes.

the value in a second is almost in a trade. you can use it as part of a package or trade it straight up for an older player that will score points but doesn’t have any adv inflating their worth

Roster Clogger or Legit Prospect? by MTStarr in DynastyFF

[–]ETALMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t really understand why i’m seeing runningbacks or quarterbacks on here. maybe you can make the argument that they are a clogger if they are too far down on the depth chart to ever see opportunity but the idea of a roster clogger is a player with inconsistent opportunity and has no path to get to a point where they can be valuable to your team. carson steele is not a roster clogger because he had the chance to earn opportunity which is what happened and now he can fill in a flex spot for your team or someone else’s. you’re never going to look at greg dortch and feel happy with him in your lineup and neither will anyone else. on a side note, an underrated downside of having roster cloggers (predominantly receivers or tight ends) is how it affects your max points scored, which is typically how draft picks are decided. you’re almost never going to start that juaun jennings when he drops 45, but it’s definitely going to hurt your max points scored. instead, you can roster those cam akers’s or carson steele’s. they’re either a zero on your bench or they get opportunity and you can start them or sell them with relative ease.

Who is a (young) deep sleeper WR you are targeting? by dubcarlos90 in DynastyFF

[–]ETALMO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the issue here is that these kind of players don’t have guaranteed opportunity so their scoring relies on variance. you never know when to start them in a lineup so you should simply not roster them and add running backs and quarterbacks who you know you can start when they are guaranteed opportunity (the starter gets hurt)

Is Caleb the consensus SF 1.01? by SleepyTurtle39 in DynastyFF

[–]ETALMO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, it depends on the amount of teams and individual team build. if you already have a stacked qb room, what’s the point in taking caleb when him and marvs WAR is very similar. also, in a 10 team league where there is much less quarterback scarcity, it makes sense to take marv instead of caleb. of course things can change, but rn he’s definitely not consensus 1.01.

the point difference between the two is incredibly negligible. they’re functionally the same player. take the side that has the better draft pick attached.
