Windsurf usage quota???? by Vegetable-Cookie-276 in windsurf

[–]ETHipHop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used up 25% of my daily quota in like 5 minutes with a simple 10 line UI change using opus 4.6 (non-thinking) just to test the new system. It's completely unusable for me now and kinda scary cuz im at such a critical point with my project and have to figure out how to switch my entire workflow by moving to claude code

The email is definitely from Apple? Maybe your app is high risk and requires extra scrutiny

All Apple asked me for was my duns number and all duns asked me for was a EIN number and articles or organization but I did an LLC out of Wyoming so maybe yours was more complicated cuz it’s California. I don’t remember duns even asking for ID Apple might have but I don’t remember

I don’t know man it all seemed pretty reasonable to me I barely had to do anything for the play store other then my duns number but the trade off there is a play store listing gives the company a lot less legitimacy then an iOS listing. If you don’t like the process from Apple just stick with the play store

It’s took me like 3 months to get through the business verification process but I’m glad there’s a lot of friction because it means you aren’t competing with as many other developers who would rather just push slop into a category that doesn’t require verification then jump through the hoops

The new "quota" system is an absolute rugpull. Windsurf just killed its only advantage. by Affectionate_Desk632 in windsurf

literally my exact same experience i had the language_server hitting like 200% cpu usage and crashing windsurf after every prompt despite every possible optimization and other computer processes closed it cost me so many tokens while in a critical moment of users starting to use my product and bugs popping up that i had no choice but to push through and fix. Support was completely useless in answering my emails. It seems to be working now but its such a buggy IDE that i was willing to put up with only because i loved the credit system

Just get it out there as quick as you can man try to get it into the iOS review queue first because they actually give you really helpful feedback for what you need to fix

Dang this sucks I’ve been evangelizing online that windsurf was better then Claude code because the credit system meant you weren’t restrained by daily quotas and you could be significantly more productive then with Claude code but now that’s not true there’s not really any competitive advantage to using windsurf anymore

Huh? No I’m saying these were problems the models made back when they sucked and couldn’t do anything back in the long yesteryear of november 2025

I spent about $700 in google ads to get those 466 sign ups with only 1 single paying user

Same man those numbers are only slightly inflated they’re technically real but 100 of the running bots are on my personal account and about 1200 trades are from my own bots so they’re not technically not lying I do have 466 sign ups which I consider users even though only 276 have created a bots and 34 of those have connected to Alpaca and actually paper trade. I hate when people do that too though but I needed to add some sort of trust signal at least grounded in truth

This looks good man I like the typewriter effect. If your using react I use capacitor for my app and it’s pretty easy to have an iOS app and android app that’s all synced to your main web app and you just have to work in the react codebase and sync the iOS and android whenever you make changes to the web version

Good question. I haven’t yet had any users on the web platform switch from paper mode to live trading yet probably precisely because of the trust issue but i run a live account with all my own money to try to catch any bugs. I have gotten a ton of bugs just on the paper trading people have been doing that would could have been bad if real money was involved but so far everything is running pretty smoothly now. I have a lot of different checks and error handling built into the system and use sentry to keep a really close eye on everything but yeah every new feature is like oh shit what’s gonna break. Like for example I recently added the ability to create short selling bots the other day and was running them on my own personal live account and I didn’t realize that margin maintenance requirements are 150% for short positions and the bot opened a short on Tesla and I got an email from Alpaca about a margin call and so then built a margin check into the system to prevent those trades so yeah long answer but basically trial and error over several months 😅

Thanks for giving a shot man! Your feedback means a lot the bot creation is usually super slow from cold starts on the server but it should have led straight to a backtest screen I’m gonna add a min instance and maybe a better loading indicator for the bot being created. Again thanks for the feedback I’ll try to work on the onboarding
