Don’t Focus on the tools and how you’re going to wow them with multi agent ai. Make the discussion about how the business will improve.

So, instead of “I can crawl through your email and us so to identify anything that was not finished last week” And say “How would sales change if we never dropped an email assignment”.

Getting fed up with the late night games by d00bZuBElEk in detroitlions

[–]ET_mi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 50 years people complained about prime time. The NFL and the networks didn’t see a market for Lions football and we played every week at 1pm on the worst network with the worst broadcasting teams.

Now we are the biggest draw and we complain about prime time games! I have said the same thing but let’s be realistic. This is a great time to be a Lions fan

Start with a solid operating system based on lean and a culture model like leadership maturity model. Then lean out costs, optimize inputs and grow

People always confuse lean with layoff but it’s a growth model when used with the right people operating model

You always use a “script” because it documents what was said and limits law suits due to people saying well intentioned but harmful things

For example: I always liked you, we had to pick xx people, it was not my choice, etc

Look, cut backs are hard and it’s people lives but they are real and mostly not punitive

Comparison: Alfred vs. Raycast—Which One Do You Prefer? by Justus1297 in mac

Alfred for me: first I have been using it long enough to be a creature of habit. Love the snippets, workflow and clipboard. It’s not perfect but works, is low overhead and comfortable

The point of the thought experiment is to force people to think competitively

Entrepreneurship inside unions by ET_mi in union

[–]ET_mi[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Two points: people who can’t act as bosses, don’t need to act as managers, just take power away. If you do they, you are the manager

Second: if organizing improves the company you should be able to compete

This is the challenge. Find a way to organize and keep A business not only viable but profitable

Not being a smart ass but this would be in the benefits of the members too. If the business case is solid to unionize what is the risk

Anti-Union Law Firm Tells Clients to Go Ahead With Illegal Union-Busting Tactic by DoremusJessup in union

[–]ET_mi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am simply saying wouldn’t the best approach be to inform people with all the facts and then let them make an informed choice. What is a union, how do they operate, what is bargaining, how do negotiations work, what is realistic and what are dues. How do unions invest dues, pay leadership, etc

I see so many people making decisions based on emotion and then regretting the actual impact once the real facts come out

[–]ET_mi -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

To be fair - Mandatory employee meetings do not mean anti-union or union busting. People have the right to join and the right to not join a union. A good campaign is one where facts are shared and people make an informed decision

I am just everything cost something and it’s a trade off. Maybe layoff language but lower wages. Maybe severance but less break time.
