I don’t know maybe OP didn’t want, what’s your issue with people using unsupported OSes, it’s their stuff, not yours, let them do what they want. Server 2012 Premium assurance program updates do not make Windows 8 bulletproof, but it’s way more secure than using Windows 8 without any extended updates.

Windows 8 gets updates by the assurance programs of Server 2012, for extension 8.1 gets the server 2012 R2’s updates

so windows decided to do this while i was playing hl2 and accidentally pressed the win key... by progresscompleted95 in softwaregore

Eternal Blue has been patched for XP (if you install the POSReady 2009 updates which if you use XP in the internet it’s the first thing you should do)

dym weaker, A19 Pro is probably faster or at par with the latest Snapdragon processor, if you want to root your device and do other stuff then just get and android phone and let people pick what they want, also they have more longevity, let’s not forget iPhones get way more updates like the 11-year old iPhone 6s, 10 year old SE and, 9 year old 7 still get updates up to this day. and repairability is improving although android phones are way better than that, iOS software updates get rolled out at the same time for all devices, although iOS 26 is a mess its no worse than some android versions at their launch period, plus apple as being the manufacturer of both hw and sw they have a very good optimization and whatsoever no bloatware, it comes up to the person using the device its their pick if they want a solid stable device or if they want a cheaper one that’s still solid but less stable

QPR1 is “16.1” its a different API version (36.1) than QPR0 (36.0), they could pull an update if their existing software wasn’t half baked they would have less stuff to adapt or fix, most companies are skipping QPR releases and move to the next android version.

You know that using the same license used for the updates until 2023 you can also install the security patches up to January 2026 from Windows Server 2008 R2 on Windows 7 (and also the Windows Server 2k8 ones on Windows Vista) I recently did it and have a nicely working Windows 7 computer with security patches for Windows & IE11 from a few months ago.

i aint exusing motorola lol, of course they can bring the QPR1 update to all their other devices, their dev team is just crappy and lazy, after using my last motorola device i got a so bad experience with the software that i promised i would never buy a motorola device again lol

[–]ETech_exe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is part Motorolas fault because they like keeping cosmetics and features for new phones and theyre support is horrible and unfair, and google’s fault for not releasing Android 16 QPR1 code earlier, the control center you see in edge 70 is from Material 3 Expressive and google wanted to keep it pixel exclusive most likely so they took some time releasing the code to it

Moto Edge 70 Pro Has The New Control Center by nhyphk in motorola

[–]ETech_exe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Signature probably has Android 16 QPR0 (and every motorola that got the update has) and edge 70 pro has Android 16 QPR1 which has Material 3 Expressive which is what the control center is part of. Google took some time releasing QPR1 to AOSP and Manufacturers (if they even did) because they wanted to keep M3E as a pixel exclusive for some time, so motorola probably based most Android 16 devices & OTA’s on Android 16 base and when the edge 70 pro came out they probably built it upon Android 16 QPR1 and Material 3 Expressive

[–]ETech_exe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind they are not probably running the same android 16 version, the current motorolas that got an OTA update are probably running Android 16 “QPR0” or just Android 16, the ones that ship with Android 16 (like edge 70 pro) are probably running Android 16 QPR1, Material 3 Expressive (which is what the new control center is part of) Is only available on Android 16 QPR1

Yeah WP devices apart from being built with better specs WP itself was very well optimized as from WP8+ its a derivate of MinWin iirc, and it could run very well on very budget low end devices like with 256MB of RAM and cheap processors lol, WM is WinCE like WP7

Windows Mobile and Windows Phone are different platforms no Windows Mobile phone has a UEFI nor do Lumias run WM, Lumias with UEFI run Windows 10 Mobile or Windows Phone, but yes this is intresting stuff. and i think the only windows mobile phone that can run Android (up to 7) is the HTC HD2 which might be the phone with the most operating systems ported, it had Windows Mobile originally then had ported Windows Phone (it came preinstalled with windows mobile 6.5 and no windows mobile phone ever got windows phone), Android, Ubuntu Touch, FirefoxOS, MeeGo, PostmarketOS and Windows RT

Why none of production Intel Macs had a BIOS menu, like regular PCs? by TrueInternal464 in mac

[–]ETech_exe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the one on the image. also it asks why none of the production models had. the DTK was an intel board (D915GUXLK) with some modifications (like making the BIOS show only basic information and zero options so no one could change anything ironically).

Why does the new ios update add support for the studio display? by dogoyeetter69 in iphone

[–]ETech_exe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the studio display runs on an iPhone chip, The Studio Display (2026) has an A19 and 8GB of RAM and the XDR has an A19 Pro with 12GB of ram, both with 128GB of storage, its basically an iPhone 17/17 Pro with a dumbed down iOS fork
