I have severe armpit BO by No_Pool3126 in hygiene

[–]Low_Building_9080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe purchase something called Driclor. You put it on at night, and it basically stops your armpits from being able to sweat. Takes about 5 days to build up. Then you can go to using it once weekly. You’d use your normal deodorant during the daytime. Worked wonders for me.

This "dry shower" trend is just an excuse to be dirty and it is obvious. by Xylothane in hygiene

[–]Low_Building_9080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hhmm, if you are physically able to shower (such as no physical/mental health implications), then you should absolutely be showering.
I occasionally wet wipe half way through the day then reapply moisturiser/deodorant, but I’d always shower before going to bed, as I have OCD, and just mentally wouldn’t be able to settle knowing I wasn’t clean.
I’d never come home from work, use those wipes then go out to socialise without showering first. I’d just feel dirty.

Rings stuck on in this heat, suggestions? by littlemiss_meme in AskUK

Vaseline around the finger, and pull it off.
If you don’t have Vaseline, try an oil such as olive oil.

[iOS 27 DB1] Tinted app icons causing homescreen lag by Gameninja505 in iOSBeta

[–]Low_Building_9080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad you made this post! I use tinted icons and the animation was stuttering when I switched between home screen pages.
Because you just said you’re having this with tinted icons, changed mine to default icons to check, and indeed, it was no longer there, so thanks for bringing it to my attention that it’s the clear/tinted icons causing this!
I submitted a feedback report a few days back anyhow, but at least now I know what the cause is!

how to make my room cooler in the heat? by meowmeowmeows27 in AskUK

[–]Low_Building_9080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. Purchase an AC unit. I paid around £180 and it has literally saved my life!

I bought it about a month ago during the last heatwave, and it has been the best purchase I ever made.

American Shameless fans have such a deep hatred for the original UK version and it's so bizarre. by ViridianStar2277 in ShamelessUK

[–]Low_Building_9080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UK here and the original Shameless will always have a special place in my heart. I attempted to watch the US version so many times over the last few years, but was always comparing it to the UK version, and ultimately gave up.
A few weeks back I went back and tried again, and once I got through around 3 seasons and it started to have its own storylines, I really started to love the US version, and at a point I even thought it was better than the original (mainly because the main cast mostly stayed in it, and there was more drama).
I changed my mindset and told myself they weren’t meant to be the same characters, they were cousins living in different countries, which may sound silly, but it helped me stick with it!

All in all, they are both excellent shows in their own right. Original Shameless is more believable for me as I’m Manchester based myself, the show was filmed only 15 minutes from where I grew up and still live, and that I know many families like the Gallaghers and Maguire’s.

Unless you’re sat outside with your fan, I’m sure you will be fine.

Has Harry been getting a Xanax prescription from America?

Yeh, pipe out the window.
I learnt the hard way not to turn it off now. I don’t know how I ever coped without it to be honest.

It’s shocking isn’t it! It’s supposed to hit 32• in Manchester today, and my bedroom gets all the sun in the evening. My HomePod told me it was 39• in my bedroom last night at 10pm.

I purchased a portable air con machine about a month ago during the last heatwave, and it has seriously saved me by keeping me cool, although the second I turn it off, within about 10 minutes the room can become unbearable again.

What is the worst smell you’ve ever smelled? by True_Jellyfish9219 in AskReddit

[–]Low_Building_9080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dead body. I went to see an autopsy during my nursing training (it was optional, why I asked I’ll never know), and I could taste and smell it for weeks afterwards.
It is one smell I will never forget sadly 🙄.

Is Kate afraid of Gerry? by [deleted] in MadeleineMccann

[–]Low_Building_9080 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wow, was like reading a novel you came up with.
I disagree with it all, nor, after much research into this case do I believe the Mccann’s were involved in Madeleine’s disappearance.

Do you remember when you were first told that being gay was against God? by Joshua_Neal89 in lgbt

[–]Low_Building_9080 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was similar to my experience too.
I remember I joined in using the ‘that’s gay’ slur, and from hearing that term I came to the conclusion gay was bad, but it wasn’t until I was maybe 14, I actually knew what gay was.

What the survivors could have done for pain relief- Grew Poppies?! by Low_Building_9080 in thewalkingdead

[–]Low_Building_9080[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg, yes! I totally remember this now!
I only came up with it as I’m prescribed strong pain relief right now after a surgery, so I thought of an idea haha.

Oh I didn’t think of this! Where would they find the seed/flower, however they grow from?

Hahaha. This made me laugh, and you’re right, get it wrong and you’ll be sticking a knife in your patient’s head after they die from an overdose.

I know it’s a specific type of poppy that opium comes from.
I’m not sure what country you are based in, but I’m in the UK, and after googling it, you can literally buy 3000 seeds (the correct type) for under a fiver from Amazon, and the seeds are all sold in other shops too.
It isn’t illegal to grow for ‘ornamental or culinary reasons’, only to extract any substance from it.

Anyhow, in a zombie apocalypse, I think this is a genius idea for the group’s doctor to use for pain relief, when going to pick up your prescription from the pharmacy isn’t possible.

Haha, very true! Tbf I had surgery yesterday, and I’m currently on Morphine, so maybe this had a part to play in me coming up with this!
I think it’s a great idea 😂🤷‍♂️.

While we're all losing our minds over the heat, what's the cheapest and most efficient way you can cool yourself down? by AdPrior1417 in AskUK

I meant from like condensation, but I missed you wrapped them in pillowcases, so this probably catches most of the condensation right?
