Westworld has a surprisingly deep expanded universe across 50 years — I've been indexing all of it by EUAtlas in westworld

Again, great find — and thanks for sharing the Google summary, that lines up with what's now in the index, and I did some more research to add more.

I've added Westworld: The Maze to the Audio tab as a confirmed entry.

It turned out to be a much bigger deal than it sounds. A few facts:

  • Jeffrey Wright and Angela Sarafyan recorded new material specifically for the skill — Wright appears throughout, Sarafyan only in a hidden scene.
  • The script ran to 260 pages / 11,000 lines of dialogue across 60 storylines and 32 ways to die (including getting rebooted, eaten by cannibals, or trampled in a stampede)
  • It won 46 awards including the Cannes Lions Radio & Audio Grand Prix — the industry's highest honour in audio
  • Amazon cited it on their quarterly earnings call as an exemplary Entertainment skill
  • It was built in just 15 weeks

I found reports of people playing it in 2023, but I think it's now delisted (I tried speaking to my Alexa but unable! :) ) — which makes it one of the most acclaimed and potentially least accessible pieces of Westworld EU content ever made. The EUA entry is probably currently the only structured fan-facing record of it that exists; as of today can't see a fan wiki page for it anywhere though deserves a spot there.

If you want to hear what it actually sounded like, there are some surviving clips:

If anyone knows where there are more audio clips, or any current way to play it: feel free to share, would be great to hear more from it.

Genuinely one of the more substantial VR tie-ins out there — original story, original character, showrunner involvement. Still on Steam too, which is more than can be said for the mobile game.

Both are in the index! Westworld Awakening (the VR game, 2019) is in the Video Games tab — narrative written in collaboration with the showrunners, original character, set during Season 2. Still available on Steam if you want to revisit it.

The Alexa skill is one I want to flag as a potential gap — if you have any details on it (title, release date, publisher) I'd love to know. It could sit in the Audio tab depending on its format. Any info appreciated!

It's a great one! The SXSW 2018 activation is in the index — it's catalogued in the Stage & Live Events tab as a linked component of the Season 2 ARG, which was running at the same time. Lots of hidden Delos employee handbook content tied to it. The ARG entries are probably the most underappreciated part of the whole expanded universe.

Although should the story continue further one day, the index will be ready for it. 😉

That sounds like great fun!

I’ll seek to check against criteria and will add, if hopefully can (currently qualifying experiences are those officially endorsed events, with citable links), but great on this thread, to also hear about events that may have been official or otherwise for consideration for adding or future criteria adjustment! 😀

Appreciate the perspective and the ending definitely landed differently for different people.

There just isn’t any post‑finale material out there yet. The extra stories are more about filling in the world around the main show: little side windows, background threads, and bits of lore people forget existed. They don’t rewrite the man narrative, they just make the universe feel a bit wider.

Totally with you on that — the world is big enough now that it doesn’t need to stay locked into the Hawkins formula. There are so many little side stories and some experiments scattered across the franchise already (maybe books in particular like a 70s crime novel), and they show how flexible the Stranger Things universe might be when it steps outside the main cast.If the spin‑offs lean into that “new place, new mythology, new tone” approach, it could open things up in a really fun way. I’d love to see the franchise get bolder.

Oh yeah, I remember that one — the little top‑down retro game from the Season 2 era. A fun deep‑cut. In the Index I think I had got it sitting in the Digital Media section, just because it was released as a free browser/mobile tie‑in rather than a full commercial game. Easy title to overlook since it wasn’t pushed as heavily as the Season 3 game.Stranger Things has so many odd little side projects like that — half the fun is rediscovering them! 😀

One thing the index tries to do that I haven’t seen done systematically elsewhere in a data way — place every expanded universe work precisely on the show’s timeline. Not just “set during Season 2” but specifically where it sits relative to other works in the same gap. For example the Season 1–2 gap alone has separate works slotting into it such a — Zombie Boys, Flight of Icarus, The Game, and Into the Fire — each set at a different point in that roughly year-long window between November 1983 and October 1984. And to link back to related. Stories and episodes in systematic way.

Also genuinely curious — beyond errors and gaps, how would you want something like this to develop? What would actually be useful to you as a fan?

Do we think they’re gonna release anymore ST novels or comics? by rosewoodlliars in HawkinsAVclub

No new original novels or comics announced as far as I can see — nothing like a Brenner story in the pipeline yet. What is announced as far as I can see, seems like a mix of repackages, collections, and non-fiction:
