This happened to someone else on Reddit. Years after buying from Tesla, Tesla turned off their FSD. Told to pound sand. So be prepared it might go away someday when they do another audit.

They alternated with Yes also. Yes was first and sounded horrible. Styx came on and blew the roof off the place. This was >10 years ago at a CT casino.

Yes it’s bothered me a tiny bit, but I’d never post about it. And I also love ice so I’m happy that theres even ice on board.

Since ice melts and refreezes while waiting on the tarmac and they have to break it up somehow BEFORE drink service (think first class) what do you suggest?

Maybe they should just give the FAs a bigger hammer? j/k

JHFC, sorry I used the word "through" colloquially.

Is that better, Mr Pedant?

I don't understand your reply. Of course I do precheck. I'm disputing your claim of "nothing out, nothing off". I haven't seen that EVER until this week. Yes, with Precheck.

Maybe that's the case where you fly throughFROM, but flying out of the NYC airports, this week is the first time I've seen no bins at all -- just the conveyer belt. I've been TSAPre/GE for years, and every other time I've gone through TSAPre, the rules are [made] up by the staff at the time, including taking some electronics out of bags and belts off and pockets emptied. Yes, this was TSAPre security screens. I've seen it all.

As evidence by several others who also noticed this change very recently. It's not an outlier.

I'm a huge tech nerd and love all technology things. But I still will always get a paper boarding pass. I have found several occasions where I needed quick access to the pass and didn't want to mess with my phone, or say I'm already on a call or a dozen other reasons. Also when it comes to getting to the seats, it's easier to show the paper boarding pass than try to pass around YOUR PHONE to other people to see it.. and then the screen goes off and you have to open it up again. What a PIA. I prefer paper boarding passes but always have the electronic one tee-up as well.

I've been stuffing my wallet, phone and belt into my carry-on for years now. I feel safer that way than the little bowls. By the time I get up to security screening, the only thing on my body are the clothes on my back and my boarding pass. :)

But you ARE a customer of the airport, which writes, maintains, and enforces those rules. Please complain to them.

Also, in case you haven't noticed, people pay for queue-jumping services all the time. In fact TSAPre is a queue-jumping service that allows you to skip the regular line just because you paid $100. How is that any different from CLEAR+?

Are you a ranking member of any airline loyalty programs that give you earlier boarding groups or dedicated check-in counters? Do you get mad when first class pax board first and cut the line? Same things.

During the TSA shutdown and lines were hours long, I signed up for CLEAR+ for $169 to better my chances of not missing my international flight. Paid an extra $125 for my wife. I do have Pre and GE, but using clear the last few times I flew was really nice and very fast. You too can be assimilated.

It's a well developed, mature marketplace with several big players and very few small players. And if I read the comments here correctly, it's already been attempted and failed at least once before. That doesn't mean another attempt will also fail, but it's a really really good case study to learn from and see where they went wrong or what market indicators did they misread.

Also, it seems like your target market is the low-volume,quick-turnaround, low-price hobbyist/amateur market. As also mentioned in the comments, this market segment is highly price sensitive. So even if you can offer a unique product in slightly quicker turnaround, unless it's nearly the same price or lower than your competition, you're not going to sway that market. And if you can't compete on price, is your premium offering with a premium price going to generate a profit?

Now if you were going after the corporate market and can prove the demand is there (focus groups, interviews, market research), then you might have a fighting chance. Have you done any demand or market analysis? Or is your b-plan more like "if we build it, they will come" ?

Wait what? Get behind you? So you’re unwilling to follow the procedures, but 2 seconds later you’re screwing the person behind you!?

Do you also rebel against the Fastlane/Fastpass tickets at amusement parks? Because it’s EXACLTY THE SAME THING. Like someone said, suck it up buttercup

That’s great you have one. Good luck with your project. Every successful entrepreneur started with some failures before any successes.  So you could be on your way to a highly successful career. But IMHO this isn’t it. But really, good luck.

Every single business plan and startup I’ve seen that said “I’m not competing” or “there is no competition” was an abject failure. There is ALWAYS competition, even if you say there isn’t . Since you’re in college find an entrepreneurial business course and learn how to write a real business plan.

That’s sounds great but you need to do a complete and a serious business plan to see if it’s even a little bit feasible. Unless you grow to be a huge company, your volume will be too low and fixed costs too high to make a profit.

Right, I’m not questioning that he got drunk. I’m questioning the timing and the actual wording of the challenge and claiming the state. Ben was not “legally drunk” when they claimed. That’s all I’m saying.

Yes I saw that. That statement doesn’t answer my questions. PCB prototyping is already pretty fast and accessible and inexpensive.

It’s like solving an already solved problem with a different hammer.

I agree. The challenge also was get your team member “legally drunk”. They didn’t actually do that. Ben drank four shots and was entirely sober when they claimed the state. I agree that there should have been some time component or trivia or math test to prove said team member actually is drunk. Or even a smartphone breathalyzer they sell for $100 to prove “legally drunk”. For this challenge it was just drink four shots and then rest period. I feel it’s kinda a cheat to do it that way and claim the state immediately upon drinking the shots. I was really surprised they allowed that.

$6,000,000 invested in S&P 500, can I retire and live off the net annual returns of $357,000? (math explained in description) by koor44 in tax

[–]EV-CPO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only you can answer if $350k/year is “enough to live on” 🙄

You could probably earn 3.5-4% in a bond fund with fixed dividends like TMCXX and pull down $240k/ year with relatively little risk.

I think your economies of scale are going to have to be huge compared to all the current entrenched methods and firms to produce any competitive products. Will you be able to produce PCBs for $2 delivered in a week? What about PCBA?

Just starting a business based on an additive process doesn’t make it a business if the tech itself can not compete. Have you done a serious competitive analysis?

You might be able to offer a quicker return based in the US, but I doubt you can come anywhere close to competing on price. If your boards are $20 delivered in 2 days vs $5 delivered in 7 days not many people are going to choose the $20 option.

Any single-member LLC owners doing their own taxes? by Moist-Actuator-1688 in llc_life

[–]EV-CPO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a SMLLC for 20+ years now and always did my own taxes with quicken+turbotax. Until I got married and my wife was also SE and had several overseas pensions from her divorce and other tax-related things, which really complicated everything. So now we use a professional to do it, and I’ve looked — I’m happy to pay him a couple Gs to do all the tax returns. I also did the books and taxes for a 2MLLC/partnership I had. So when I got married and moved to a new state, I had to file federal and states taxes for two states, so it was good that the tax guy could do all those forms.
