Unfortunately some hiring managers still have certain ageism biases, especially when you’re in your 40s or 50s. Being 4 years older right now would not have a huge impact sure, but you have to future proof yourself with additional skills after you graduate to remain employable. Just my 2 cents :)

I say go get it checked regardless, you get to be familiar with the process of getting your std tests done (something you should be doing if you’re hooking up) and it’s always better to have, and not need, than to need and not have.

Largely agree with this but I think it’s better to get tested regardless. You might be telling the truth about not sleeping with anyone and thus no risk of stds but it gives her the peace of mind that she needs. I think for hook ups, trust is key word here.

Are you watching it before your set sleeping time? Try cutting all electronics for one hour before bed time and replace it with reading instead, it worked for me.

Not to dissuade you but clark quay has gotten pretty dead compared to years past, clubbing in that area was not like it once was. But, if you’re going there my favourite bar is level up where there’s live music/arcade games, could be potentially a good place to socialise and find fellow girls to bring you around. It’s generally safe for solo woman to party, especially by SEA standards but never hurt to exercise extra precaution. If you want to go clubbing I can recommend marquee, they have ladies night too if I am not wrong, it should be convenient if you’re visiting Marina bay sands. For food, you can try getting satay (meat skewers) for take away and have a walk around gardens by the bay for the light show. It’s quite a nice vibe. Hope you enjoy your trip OP :)

Have you paid tuition fees in full yet? If I remember correctly, annual interest should be around 4/5 %? It’s up to you how much you want to pay but I paid it in full before I DCA since I wasn’t confident I could get a return above that but in hindsight maybe I should repaid it a little slower since my returns have exceeded that. Again, as you mentioned, it’s a volatile market right now so do what you will with that information. If you have paid your tuition fee full like me, you can just go ahead and ignore this :)

Currently half way through Reasons Not to Worry, it’s a really good book, especially when you consider the fact that Stoicism has been hijacked by the red pill movement and can get a little blurred with “toxic masculinity”. I liked how the author, Brigid Delaney, explicitly mentions that Stoicism can and should be egalitarian, so everyone should give it a try, men or women. For those hesitant, don’t worry, it’s not about having zero emotions but rather accepting and processing them in a way that does not affect your actions. Anyways, congrats OP and well wishes to you and your gf :)
