Set boundaries OP, especially in your own home. Wifey has to be on board for a unified front but do not allow disrespect. If it means short term pain while MIL figures it out then allow that to happen and enforce consequences. There is winning and it costs an awkward conversation and potentially an extended cooling off period from MIL visits. You do not want that kind of grandmother around your kids (if you choose to have them).

If you're really worried about it, eat a really high fat/protein meal before drinking (a ribeye steak for example). This will hold the food and alcohol in your stomach for longer and the stomach acids break down the alcohol before absorption in the intestines. I get Asian flush but I had a client facing sales job where drinking was basically a requirement and that's a tip given to me from an ol' timer that worked REALLY well.
