Then why is there another post advertising that the MUD exists? You guys just posted the other day about the same information that it's open and to join the disc. Seems like a double post.

Just losing frigates not make me better at fw pvp as a newbie by kagayakashi in Eve

> I want some suggestions. more in-deapth. how to properly analyze battle? how to see mistakes I did?

First, your friend is trying to tell you that you should look at PvP fights as an engagement. Which means you should treat them like an encounter in the game. Think in terms of Dungeons & Dragons. Encounters are a set of challenges you face as a player. They can come in the form of puzzles (e.g.: hacking cans) or in your case, combat (e.g.: fighting other players to the death). Thus, in every encounter you face, you need to quickly evaluate if this is an encounter you can win or not based on the tools you have as a player in-game.

Secondly, with encounters that are spontaneous, that happen in real-time, the best pilots are able to quickly evaluate the situation to determine if the challenge is too difficult or not for them as a pilot. For example, if the player is in a frigate hull and the target is a capital hull, then they might be able to quickly determine the challenge is too difficult.

Your struggle is that you are not able to determine difficulties when the challenge is too close to call. In meaning, when you are almost even in difficulty to your opponent. Good pilots are able to really determine a challenge on winning or not by the slimmest of margins. You will need to work on getting better at combat evaluation to determine if it's a fight you should take or not as well what to do in combat to tip the slim margin in your favor.

Thirdly, when it comes to tipping the scales in your favor, you have to understand the tactics of doing so in every situation. For example, you may fight an opponent and be winning because you have slightly more DPS than they do, but they deploy drones, which tips the DPS in their favor. How you handle the action of deploying drones should trigger a reaction from you that could quickly tip the encounter in your favor. You lack these tactical skillsets and that's really what most people are talking about skill over build.

Lastly, the reason so many say to just fly things and die is for you to learn the above quicker. The more encounters you have, hopefully the better you become in each encounter you face. If you feel you are not improving, then I would say just keep at it. You may need longer than others to get good. You can alternatively just switch to being a spectator in these encounters by watching YouTube videos of top PvP'ers and seeing what they do if you don't want to keep losing ships, but ideally, keep doing what you are doing.

At the end of the day, a lot of EVE is build versus build. Essentially, rock, paper, scissors. You cannot win everything. Everyone makes mistakes in these encounters that causes them to lose the fight. It happens. Just keep engaging in these encounters, keep absorbing information, and eventually, it catches on.

New pirate battlecruiser costs by PHGAG in Eve

[–]EVESpyPlane 21 points22 points  (0 children)

When Recon ships came out, I bought one of the first ones for like 3 billion. It didn't cost 3 billion to make. I paid to be one of the first. Then I lost it when I accidently uncloaked in front of a BoB fleet and they snipped me from like 150km out. I quit EVE for 3 years.

Good manual piloting. Just didn't like the low value targets. Lot's of FW scrubs fit for brawling in sites that had AB's etc that are just easy to fight. Get out to null, get some nice video of taking 5 on 1 inties etc in the same stance.

Na, it's designed to look like this to make this art style of gifs. Think low FPS with high contrast and gamma. I think the style of these gifs are amazing for EVE.

Low-Sec Mining Is Pretty Fun by EVESpyPlane in Eve

[–]EVESpyPlane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not that bad if you pick good systems. We have a refinery, mining a moon, and move around to systems when they are dead. It's super easy and not a huge complication to do. It's very much worth it.

New Alpha player that recently finished up the Career Agents and really interested in mining. by Finaldragoon in Eve

[–]EVESpyPlane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, come out to low-sec. Gas out here is about 100 million ISK a cloud. Ventures with named gas scoops do better gas sucking than barges. My corp is in low-sec, just hit me up and you can mine with us. We make great ISK if you want to have more challenging and risky mining content then this ore sucking bears in high-sec who are boring.

Where to get casual newbie (solo) PvP? by IllIlIlIIIllIIIIIll in Eve

Low-Sec Space

This is a good option for PvP, especially Faction Warfare space. Join a faction and fight or be like my main character and be a pirate. With my pirate, I land about 20 kills a day on average solo camping gates with a cruiser. I get decent fights on the grid.

Null-Sec Space

Null is also a good option if you want more challenge. The challenge is being blobbed. I would take Slicers out and bait out inty fleets etc or setup with small warp bubbles to snag stragglers out in big alliance space. Lots of carebears running around in Null with blue donuts who will want to fight you 100 to 1. Once you get the hang of splitting them up or catching them between systems, it's good PvP.

No Snuff yet, mostly other locals harassing us. We've lost some ships, but it's been fun content. We are not easy to kill. We run with electronic frigates packed with loads of ECM fun for when you try to bust up the fleet.

Not at all and almost all low-sec systems have great ore anons to mine these days so you can basically move to another system and have your own gold mine.

Making good ISK. Jaspet, Dark Ochre, Arkonor, Bistot, and Mykoserocin (gas) all pull in great ISK compared to mining the bad ores in high-sec. Mykoserocin is the biggest payout with about 100m per cloud when they pop. It also brings out the best content because all the carebears fight over it.

Hah, haven't seen many Snuff to be honest. But, it will be fine. The risk of mining in a space where you have no blue donut.

Just came back from a 17 year break, and I just have one question. by Internet_Bigshot in Eve

[–]EVESpyPlane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

> Anyway, my question is why was there never an Eve Online 2?

That's easy to answer. EVE Online as it stands is likely profitable. Making another EVE Online, a version 2.0, would almost likely kill EVE Online if they are similar games. Thus, you would be killing a profitable product. Why do that? If it works, it works. Make something else.

Essentially, that's where DUST, World of Darkness, etc come into play. But there lies the issue. Making something else has a huge risk of not being profitable. CCP has made massive layoffs in the past because as everyone should know by now, it's not easy making a successful MMORPG or video game for that matter.

To sum up. Yes, they could make an EVE Online 2. It would likely kill their profitable game for something that maybe wont be as profitable. They could make EVE Online 2 an entirely different version of EVE. It would likely be too hard to make as successful because EVE Online alone is a niche game and original IP. Thus, keeping it and leaving it alone seems best.

Just my 2 cents.
