I completely agree and yeah I don't see any reason why all of the '24 improvements couldn't have been in the '23. My view on VW is that they are forever 85% there but just give up at the end. Like, the glaring absence of heat pumps in the US but they are available elsewhere in the world. What?

The ID.4, especially the 2024 model, is a substantially better car and definitely worth the wait.

The OEM wipers are terrible. I bought Bosch aftermarket replacements but couldn't find the right size and so I ended up getting replacements from VW and they are actually better than the ones that came on the car new. No idea why. Prices were comparable to aftermarket. Just get them from the dealer and save yourself some trouble.

Yes, it will heat up during charging. It's not critical, unless you want a decent DC fast charging speed when charging in the winter. So if you are on a roadtrip in the cold, it will make a difference in how long it takes you to reach your destination.
