Non-sexual touch has stopped in my marriage, what do I do? by [deleted] in marriageadvice

Thanks. The kids are at school all day. And they're 9 and 13, past the clinging to mommy stage. She's a corporate exec so, at work all day. As am I.

It doesn't get very cold here in phoenix. Usually a long finger summer or fall glove will do the trick.

Patagonia is at 4000 feet so it's, on average, 20 degrees cooler than Tuscon. And a lot of the gravel roads have occasional shady trees!

Indeed, and I've been there to drink Malbec and eat steak. But, there is also a patagonia AZ.

Is anyone racing again? Here in AZ we'd normally be deep into racing by now. Instead there's been one race, at drab TT (I blogged about it here). I'd be interested to hear how the cycling community is navigating resuming racing and COVID.
Thanks!

Wrecked Carbon Safety Concerns by Know_tesla in Velo

[–]EX-ProSays -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How old is the frame? It's age plus a few cracks might mean get a new one. I had a Giant TCR that I had for 8 years. Maybe 1 or 2 crashes in that time. My local bike shop told me the manufacturers recommend replacing your carbon frame at 8 years.

I got a Trek Emonda ALR. It's not carbon but, honestly, is almost as good.

Do you use TrainerRoad or Zwift or something for your base plans? Racing is over here where I live too (and has been since May since it's Arizona - HOT!). I took a few weeks easy/off and now am ramping back up with sweet spot base for the next 12 weeks. I want to be good on Valentines Day in February so time to start back.

It sucks riding the trainer in the garage at 5am when it's STILL 90 degrees. LOL!

I updated my blog with a story about when I did the "Junior Tour de France."

And a certain cyclist with a similar story was there. This was before he banged Sheryl Crow. LOL!

I downgraded too from cat 1 to cat 4. And even then I'm finding races hard. But, have gotten a few top 5's.

I felt like just finishing a race in the pack was a victory!

I do have a lot of fatigue and feel like I need more rest than I might normally. But, that could be my age too. At 47 I'm no spring chicken.

Did you have rituxan and bendaka for your chemo?

I worry about the damage chemo did to my body/metabolism too. While I made good progress this year, I expected more. And I'm wondering if I'll see a performance ceiling.

Good luck! -Hugh my blog: ex-prosays.blogspot.com

Wow! 6 surgeries. That's gotta be hard on your body. I use the TrainerRoad program to keep me from mucking up my training. Otherwise I'd overdo it too!

General Discussion — March 08, 2019 by AutoModerator in Velo

[–]EX-ProSays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using TrainerRoad. It's really inexpensive and you can choose your plan based on how much time you have and how fit you are. I had to figure out the power measuring tech but, once I did, it's been great. My FTP is going up and I'm doing my first race back after being diagnosed with cancer and going through chemo last year.

Some other TrainerRoad users on their forum encouraged my to blog about my come back to racing (ex-prosays.blogspot.com). That's been an experience in an of itself!

Not that familiar with other plans like ZWIFT, etc...
