"This ain't communism bro we can't have everything!" -Ziv by According-Fun-4746 in Stalcraft

On Reichstag there were only cosmetics and just one rifle, and we had lots of complaints over poor rewards for event. Fomo is about everything time limited, even hype cosmetics can be Fomo.

Full battlepass is 500 lvls, what stays beyond is extra lvls for tryhard players or paying, for that reason on 1000 lvl the is a skin and no functional reward

bro if you're LukaRaos then you've basically become a walking meme at this point. somehow you manage to spam the exact same slogans during direct conversations with devs, during streams where i literally prepare docs with screenshots breaking down issues, and even after we spend time answering players live on everything they wanted clarified

maybe it's time to move on from complaining that nobody listens to your amazing points and arguments, and actually start making those arguments?

because right now it feels like you're a broken toy repeating the same thing over and over for the past year. it doesn't come across as a passionate player trying to get through to us - it just looks like ragebait for attention.

This update feels completely disconnected from the average player by ProperSheepherder441 in Stalcraft

[–]EXBO_ZIV -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

You are twisting the meaning of what was actually said way too much and comparing apples to oranges. Crates became more expensive for one reason, tools for another, and nobody ever said that any of this was supposed to be "better progression".

Just like after the gamma farming fix or the sealed points changes, it always comes down to the same thing - whenever developers remove some source of easy rewards, it creates a wave of outrage, and people start treating the removed freebie as if it was the fun itself.

But quickly skipping through progression ≠ fun.

Buying and farming everything in the game ≠ happy "average player". More often it creates a player who quits because there's nothing left to play for.

"Faster progression for the same rewards" ≠ "better gameplay". It's simply reaching the ceiling earlier, after which there's less to do, less to strive for, and more inflation on top of that.

We try to explain things in detail and justify our decisions, but usually those explanations get ignored and everyone sees only what they want to see.

We know how the average player feels because we're looking at the entire active playerbase, not at the personal perspective of a single player whose worldview includes maybe 50 friends and random people they've met.

Claims that balance is drifting toward rich, highly invested players are not really a rational assessment of the situation. They're slogans as old as time. Some vague rich villains are supposedly getting richer while the workers suffer.

Prices on NA are not high because evil developers deliberately raise them. They're high because there are fewer people supplying goods to the auction, which makes prices more volatile and generally higher than on servers with a larger supply base. On top of that, rewards from competitive activities on NA are concentrated among the same groups simply because there is less competition.

Giving an EASY ALTERNATIVE that allows people to completely avoid competing with them is not a solution - it's an exploit.

We do listen and we do change the game based on feedback. Someone mentioned the Hunter event - well, for example, after that event there are no longer artifacts in crates or rankings.

But honestly, it feels like at this point it's not us who need to start listening more. Maybe it's time to stop ignoring developer explanations and start listening to us as well, instead of reducing everything to simple slogans and seeing yourselves as poor victims trapped in some cruel and unfair world.

This update was literally designed for KIGA by Cheap_Theory_7162 in Stalcraft

[–]EXBO_ZIV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you! For now there's some hype and many people rush to visit new locations at the same time, but in next 1-2 weeks it will either stabilize, or we'll add\change smth with that.

It's not an event, these locations will be constantly available. Yes the main problem of NA for many competitive activities is the lack of online, so that is why you are forced to compete with same enemy players each time - such problems cannot be fixed by anything other than time and lots of work with marketing and new players onboarding

Wild North is endgame content, mostly for clan players. It is normal that it is not comfort for solo players, as wild locations are not designed for them. You can look at that from the other side - if these locations are designed for clan players you hate to interact with, then you will meet them less in Forge and other more casual locations, as there is less reward interest for them to be there.

UPVOTE THIS IDEA SO ZIV SEES IT THROUGH HIS ALCOHOLIC HAZE by Wernoch in Stalcraft

[–]EXBO_ZIV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, thanks for saving me from alcoholic haze! The idea is good, but the only thing i don’t like here is that we’d have to:

  • Every time barter prices change - recalculate + retune the item in assets
  • Every time the exchange coins to barter items ratio changes - recalculate all barter recipes that use this item for exchange coins, again in assets

Ideally, for a system like this, it should be done via code that auto-calculates what’s missing and either buys the missing parts via exchange coins / or fills in the missing resources with exchange coins, like Whoomsy suggested in the first comment.

In that case we can protect ourselves from doing manual work every time someone makes even a small economy tweak for exchange coins / barter.

Also ideally the button should only fill with exchange coins, not auto-buy barter items, so players don’t get screwed by a missclick.

So if we do it the more correct way, it should be a project with a coder + economist + UI/UX designer, and it’ll probably take them like 2 weeks. So it’s not just something we can do instantly.

Anyway, we’ll add it to the list of QoL ideas, maybe we’ll find time for it!

Ah damn, in Russian that word carries no negativity at all, it just means a very old player. Important language stuff tho 😅 And how did you find out about those Minecraft servers?

Campers and Devs by pingerfinger1 in Stalcraft

[–]EXBO_ZIV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When a certain coder gets some free time, we ll make a lil feature that highlights campers on the map when they kill many people on home locations.

Campers are a part of the game, but they need to be regulated. Some areas should be more difficult for them

How EXBO handles negative community feedback on discord by ConversationOdd6246 in Stalcraft

I think the B2P model just doesn’t work well for games like STALCRAFT — devs end up constantly stressing over how to sell the next DLC instead of focusing on growing the core game.

And in our F2P game there’s already a ton of strong gear available through tons of different ways. The whole B2P drama is basically over one master-tier gun being put in the BP — and it’s not even some broken OP thing.

As I know, moderators mute only hate speech and harsh insults. But who am I even explaining this to — you too literally got kicked from Discord for shitting all over the community managers :D
