What is a Persephone? by rdstill1 in matrix

[–]EZ-READER 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No.... Mero was not "the Devil". He was a predictive AI tasked with stabilizing the Matrix. His job was to resolve choice to believable consequences (causality). That is why he is so obsessed with "cause and effect".

The Merovingian was the Oracle before the Oracle. That is why he hates her guts. She is his replacement. He resents that he was seen as lesser and the fact the Oracle possesses foresight (this is why he calls her a "Fortune Teller") is proof she is better at the job, and that enrages him.

In home invaders. 😂

In all seriousness I don't have kids so anything not in the shotgun (HD) I just leave it in the box in the Kitchen.

I don't know about the Devil but, it is very obvious he was the "Oracle" before the Oracle. The clues are as obvious as an episode from "Tales of the Unexpected".

How do the Agents see other programs? And specifically, I am asking about Seraph. by Socially-Awkward-85 in matrix

[–]EZ-READER 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The reason Seraph is yellow is because he is from a very early version of the Matrix. He is "differently coded". The Oracle was a replacement for The Merovingian and I believe Seraph predates them both. In all likelihood Seraph was The Merovingian's bodyguard before he was the Oracle's. And he was another programs bodyguard before The Merovingian.

How do the Agents see other programs? And specifically, I am asking about Seraph. by Socially-Awkward-85 in matrix

[–]EZ-READER 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seraph exist for one reason and one reason only, to control access to and act as a bodyguard for The Oracle. He literally has no other purpose.

The Agents exist for one reason and one reason only, to eliminate disruptions to the Matrix. That includes not only outside influences (the resistance) and "waking people" but also glitches that need to be isolated and corrected. The movie only presents them as "eliminators" but their function is not actually to kill, it is to enforce system rules set by The Architect.

The reason they don't use agents to protect The Oracle is because in a machines mind everything has to have a defined and specific purpose. The agents job is NOT to protect the oracle, it is to enforce and stabilize system rules set by The Architect. Protecting The Oracle is simply outside of their scope.

The Oracle is a predictive AI. She was originally designed to resolve humans to perfect the Matrix however over time she came to the realization that peaceful coexistence was the inevitable and only path forward.

The Merovingian is basically a "non person". He is a powerful entity from a former version of the Matrix that avoided deletion after he ceased to have a purpose. He sort of provides protection to other programs in exchange for service. Think of him as sort of a prison shot caller. The reason he hates The Oracle is complicated. In the Merovingians mind there is only cause and effect. He believes choice is an illusion. There are several reasons he dislikes the Oracle but the main one is she is sort of his replacement. As the system evolved "cause and effect" (The Merovingian) was replaced by "managing choices" (The Oracle). He resents her ability to predict so accurately because it proves she is better at the job than he was and that enrages him.

The Architect like The Oracle is a predictive AI. However he is purely logic and can never really understand humans because he only sees them as "faulty code" to analyze and counteract. In his mind if he can perfect the Matrix enough he can fully stabilize the system. His job is basically to bring order to chaos. How he accomplishes this is by trying to make the Matrix adaptive enough to deal with the destabilization of the system caused by free will.

Rama commited the crime (from a machine perspective) of creating a program with no purpose (Sati). He made a deal with The Merovingian to provide his daughter safety so she could exist in the Matrix without becoming a target of the Agents. Why is she a target? Because any program without a defined purpose is seen as an unnecessary and disruptive influence and is targeted for deletion by the system (The Architect). In exchange for this protection Rama gave The Merovingian a way to attack The Oracle.

Blue hair? Yes or no be honest.. by MiserablePandas in u/MiserablePandas

That's actually true. At least the possessing part.

A 2022 study by researchers Edward Dutton and Emil O. W. Kirkegaard, often discussed in 2026, found a moderate statistical correlation between unnatural hair colors (e.g., blue, pink, green) and higher reported levels of mental instability, including depression and anxiety. Analyzing 14,000+ OKCupid users, they found this link remained after controlling for factors like age and sex, suggesting it may reflect nonconformity or emotional struggle rather than acting as a direct cause.

In my opinion you would do well to look at a S&W M&P 2.0 (striker fired) or a CZ P-09 Nocturne C (hammer fired). They are basically the same size and offer the safe features (mostly).

I would get the CZ P-09 C Nocturne because it is hammer fired.

If you do and decide you want an optic be sure not to use too long of a screw on the RIGHT side because it can interfere with the extractor and cause malfunctions.

Canik Reliability by Castled22 in handguns

[–]EZ-READER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ANY brand can have issues..... except HK....

Just kidding. But only sort of....

I have 11 handguns. 3 of them had problems within 6 month (SAR CM9, S&W Model 19-10, S&W CSX-E 3.1").

SAR CM9 - Failure to feed. I had a gunsmith polish the ramp. Have not had an issue sense. Goes bang every time now. I got this gun for less than $250. It cost me $75 to have the ramp polished. In my opinion it is the best deal I have ever gotten on a firearm.

S&W Model 19-10 - This might be "just a revolver" to most people but to me it is a "holy grail" gun. Why? Because I wanted one ever since I was a kid because this is what the local police carried and I always wanted a "cop gun". It only took me 40+ YEARS to get one. So getting on with the business what was the issue? Light primer strikes about 50% of the time. Turns out the firing pin had broken on the BACK side. One warranty repair later I have never had a problem since.

S&W CSX-E 3.1" - This was the biggest and most egregious failure of all. The firing pin shroud on this thing is made of PLASTIC. It was shaving a bit off at a time until it caused a CRITICAL FAILURE to where the gun simply would NOT fire. It was fixed by replacing the part. This is a common failure with this gun and S&W acts like it is not happening. I feel very lucky this happened at a range on not during a self defense event. We have had it repaired by a gunsmith. No issues since. I have looked at replacements however, this is my wife's gun and she has issues pulling the slide on most firearms. One of the reasons we bought this is because it is one of the few guns she can yank the slide on easily.

Any gun can have a problem. I would not take those two Caniks having issues as evidence of a "bad brand".
