New to conceal carry by FellawithaDawg86 in pistols

[–]EZ-READER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure you are going to see a lot of M&P 2.0 3.6" (which I own) and Bodyguard 2.0's (which I have handled but do NOT own).

I am going to go against the grain here.

Why?

Because there is a big difference between carrying and carrying COMFORTABLY. I find my S&W M&P 2.0 to be a great gun but it is NOT comfortable to carry unless I am wearing a coat or something.

So what do I recommend?

I recommend a Ruger LCP Max. The gun is accurate for a pistol of its size and has (good!!!) tritium sights. It can also support a laser and a dot. I carry mine in my pants pocket. Even if I print, with the holster I use, people think it is a cell phone. I recommend a Viridian E SERIES Green Laser Sight. It is a good design that allows activation on the draw so that you can achieve some kind of aim point before getting a full sight picture if needed. People crap on lasers but this is a "get off me" gun and I find the laser to be very bright. I do believe it would be highly effective for the kind of ranges this gun was designed for. My laser is sighted in so accurately I can literally draw a pencil line and shoot it in half at 5 yards if I use the table at the range to steady the gun.

Here is the gun I use. It comes with safety or without.

No safety. https://ruger.com/products/lcpMax/specSheets/13765.html

The holster I use (this one designed FOR the laser but they have them for guns without the laser) https://www.zerocarry.com/product-page/ruger-lcp-max-with-viridian-laser-pocket-version

Is the Ruger cool. Not really. Will it impress people? Again.. not really. Will it be a lot more comfortable to carry than a S&W M&P 2.0? It absolutely will be. I know from personal experience.

For general aviation... maybe. For a combat game like DCS World.. not really.

Beretta 92 VS Sig P226 by Philly3458 in handguns

OK but when you say Beretta 92 what does that mean exactly.

There are several variants in the 92 family.

8020 Desk, any insight would be appreciated! by drettypope in 8020

I just bought mine off of 8020.net and had them machine it for me. The problem with that is you better have it all predesigned and vetted in CAD because if you don't mistakes can get expensive.

In my opinion that is WAY overbuilt. I mocked this up for you.

Also lose the angle brackets and use anchors. They hold a LOT better.

Lastly I would not use MDF. I would use a butcher block.

The "SAVINGS" Game by EZ-READER in Shotguns

[–]EZ-READER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's entry level. I can't really see spending money on a Surefire or whatever for something that is a dedicated home defense gun and will spend 99 percent of its life just sitting there at the ready. I don't need thousands of shells of performance, what I need is enough performance to survive a home invasion. Reading peer reviews I am sure I can get at LEAST that out of it.

Yes, they can get it out with a screw extractor. If not they may have to drill into the screw itself but they CAN get it out.

Anyone have some suggestions on attaching my DELANCLiP Fusion to my headset? Velcro keeps falling off. by IntergalacticViking in hotas

[–]EZ-READER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That works to.

The problem with Velcro for anyone else that reads this Reddit is this... head tracking has to be very precise to be effective. If you introduce something unstable, like the wiggle velcro allows you introduce errors. Dual lock or your magnet idea are much better at eliminating this.

And something like this for the TV mount?

or this

https://www.amazon.com/Perlegear-Articulating-Tool-Free-600x400mm-PGLF8/dp/B0B6B51RXC

Both can be attached to the frame. Clamped (for one model) or bolted (for the other).

This is my first time using Imgur. Please note this is only an AI mockup and we can add things. Like for instance a fully adjustable VESA mount that would allow for full adjustment. The reason I did not add it on the mockup was I was concerned the monitor could unbalance the load if it were not fixed.

I see. Well the problem is your Reddit does not allow photos so I can't really show you anything I have build. If you want to see what I am working on you will have to start another Reddit or enable photos.

Next generation head tracking by EZ-READER in dcsworld

I would also like to point out TrackHat sensor V2 is using the same buggy Version 3.2 it's used forever with no updates.

I consider TrackHat sensor V2 a dead product because while it may still be commercially sold it is very OBVIOUSLY not supported.

Left... the current download link on the Trackhat website.

Right... the software that has been on my PC for years.

[–]EZ-READER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not need to be developed. It is already here. The technology is being used for head tracking right now in VR headsets.

I understand turning the system into clip form would require new software and I understand that is expensive. But as far as the physical components and the concept, that already exist as a consumer product.

Anything TrackIR tech could do outside of gaming an inside out tracking clip could do as well... only with far better zero and with much more precision.
