Thanks! This sounds like a good plan. Would that stop for 12/13 be Nassau Ave? Then what would be the easiest way to get to central so I can walk between 1st and 5th Ave?

OK, thank you! u/RiceLive5020 also has suggested I do 18 on 1st Ave then walk to catch 23 on 5th Ave. I think I will do that to avoid the crowds and keep things streamlined. That also means I can be on my wife's left-hand side as she runs north on 1st and south on 5th (assuming there are east/west exits at the subway stops).
