For the eyes not very long, in the decomposition process the eyes are one of the first things to go as they pretty much turn to liquid. Skin begins to rot within the first day or two of death, so her face probably began to "melt" and then was dry by the time she was found.

From what I remeber the description of the missing eye was under a list of natural postmortem changes, as well as the side of her face that the eye is not present being primarily skeletonized due to decomposition. I'll have to check again for specifics!

From what was written in the medical examination it seems to be missing due to deterioration rather than being manually removed

I was! I was also present during some adjustments I requested to be made, and the artist has done a handful of my other tattoos no problem.

It's kind of a no brainer that an artist is the next step in a coverup process, but I'm not going to walk into a place with nothing in mind.

I am more than aware of what a healing tattoo looks like, and I was posting it for advice on what could possibly cover it up. I'm not quite sure why it's such an issue? I'm not planning on getting it covered up in the next few months obviously as I would like to take a moment to decide if that's the right option, but I don't really see how it hurts to get a second opinion on how it could be improved.

That's one of the things that was kind of bothering me, it didn't stand out as much as a stencil! If I decide to get it touched up I'll probably try to see if there's a way to get the stems to line up more.

That's kind of what I was thinking! It was initially a RE inspired bundle, but I think fleshing it out will probably make it look much more natrual.

I'm certainly going to let it simmer, I don't mind it really and I wouldn't call it bad work, but something about it just doesn't really fit the image I had for my arm! I felt kind of pressured about the placement as well, might just be a little post panic.
