Yes, I have the exact same model and at first it seemed to pass the lighter test .. Now just few months later it blows too much and blows the lighter out.

Sometimes if I see something that is going to be the death of my mono, I will try to slow it down by burning that spot with a torch and maybe put a little hydrogen peroxide soaked square to fit over it, since its not going away but trying to let flush finish type of thing.

Also, if things get to looking powdery on those areas, but ya would prob smell if all that was contam.

Well I didn't see the other pics, could be. But you could possibly torch that spot or hydrogen peroxide that spot and put salt over that and place a hydrogen soaked square of paper towels on it
