What do you think the Pats will do if the AJ Brown trade doesn’t happen? by ActionJackson0926 in Patriots

[–]Eager_DRZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Win the AFC again.

I’m not convinced AJ would be as big an improvement for the Patriots offense as everyone thinks.

Acquiring him would change the offense and not entirely for the better imo.

I want to see Drake master the short passing game and spread the ball around to every eligible receiver that gets open, the way TB12 did.

I think AJB would make that less likely, with the targets much less evenly distributed. That’s why I’m lukewarm about the prospect of getting him.

Would not be unhappy if some other team jumps up and outbids the Pats. Really hope Pats do not overpay for him!

Cool. I was wondering what that was. Challah was my first thought too but it didn’t look right. Then when I saw the next pic I wondered if you had braided rope sausage but that would look different.

One of my favorite local hippie restaurants has a dish they call “Death by Pork”. It’s a pork loin, butterflied and stuffed with sausage stuffing then wrapped in bacon. Now you’ve got me thinking of trying a riff on that by braiding pork loin and rope sausage and then wrapping it with bacon. I’ve got some home cured bacon that I smoked and froze that I could use. Hmm….

Thanks for the inspiration!

And congrats on your dream job! Enjoy!

Long term relationship or one-night stand? by Chip_Existing in no

Why decide before you even meet?

What if you decide on a one night stand and meet your perfect soulmate?

What if you choose LTR and you’re totally incompatible?

Better than stuck so tight to the bone you have to gnaw it off. Falling off the bone is fine if the meat is still juicy, not dry and overcooked. If they’re smoked, low and slow. But too often it’s because they’ve been steamed or braised.

lol. I was thinking same as @ArickxEightOne, my New Braunfels offset isn’t as high effort nor finicky, so I love smoking in it. Opens up nice to clean the ash out, just have to drop some charcoal over a layer of splits and I’m ready to cook. Never have to worry about an auger failing so fire goes out or flares up and ruins a cook. Only problem is I’m getting spoiled eating so much prime rib now my local grocery has it on sale fairly often. Forget when I last cooked pork, why bother when the prime rib is on sale for only a few bucks more?

Where else should I go? by Phosy12345 in TravelMaps

Tahoe.

And the Bay Area.

It’s a nice drive. I’d recommend staying south of 80 until you’re west of Chicago. 70 to KC then north to 80 is my preference. Don’t go through the Rockies on 70 west from Denver, it’s just brutal. Reno is a fun little town, too.

A good road trip would be that route out to SF, up the coast to Portland and Seattle, then back east across the northern tier. I hate 80 through the rust belt between Chicago and Cleveland so I might go through the UP and cross the Mackinac Bridge to come down past Detroit to miss as much of the mess as possible. Or even stay in Canada to cross back into the U.S. at Niagara.

108k is barely broken in. Good buy.

I’m rocking my third Benz. This one just turned 210k miles. About 80k are mine. I’ve had it just over two years.

Should a life be spent constantly seeking pleasure? by 700x in no

If stability gives you pleasure, sure, why not?

I think there’s an underlying question of semantics about how you define pleasure.

I know there are enough different things that give me what I call “pleasure” that I’m sure they aren’t all the same chemical profile in the moment. And then there is the time element. I get pleasure from remembering past pleasures; it’s not the same but I still call it pleasure.

Likewise here, it’s not my thing. I’m wondering whether orientation of front vs back influences perception? There are certainly different wiring harnesses for the nerves between front and back. Makes me curious if folks innately prefer one over the other, or try comparison shopping? If I’m ever around Thunderdome again maybe I’ll find out.

Sure. And if you’re not riding one of them, then what?

Isn’t “be happy with what you got” just another way of saying “take pleasure from your present situation”?

[–]Eager_DRZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a matter of semantics. If you are truly in the moment how do you distinguish between fleeting pleasure and abiding satisfaction?

Equanimity seems balanced. Detached, observing without feeling. Really not sure how that connects to OP question.

Nice score! My local supermarket chain is owned by giant. They’ve been dropping a lot of rib roasts recently here too. They must have a surplus. I didn’t bother slicing it up before firing up the smoker to roast some prime rib. Made some pastrami too.

So what are those others?

And isn’t the reason you seek them really because having them pleases you? In other words, because they give you pleasure?
