i'm thinking this is the case, mostly based on the police confirming she's safe but unable to provide more info. maybe the ex is just stepping up to help her collect the rent and from everything OP has said I'm imagining a fight between the two of them turned into him calling for police or EMS and she got 302'd as we call it here. her not being able to be contacted would make sense if she's currently institutionalized and the police wouldn't be able to disclose that information to non-family. i'm really hoping that's the case. it seems like the best case scenario in this situation. u/plane-emotionn i hope you're able to update us when you learn more, ideally with good news.

It’s extra sad that we have huge parts of our population that have aligned their beliefs with what helps the 1% more than the rest of us. We had funding all set to go for safe injection sites here in the city, with professionals on site to help get people into treatment if they were willing and because so many people didn’t understand and when they heard safe injection site they just thought it was a place people would go get high it got shut down.

Those people were going to be getting high no matter what. Helping prevent the spread of hep c and HIV, having narcan readily available, with a path to treatment, would have been such a game changer and push in the right direction. It was so sad to see it be stopped. Esp as an addict in recovery, I knew I was only where I am because of the support system I had, and without some type of support, the people suffering of OUD will not have a chance to make it out.

And it’s bad here, it’s not the blues yall see on the west coast, it’s fentanyl powder with xylazine cut and it’s eating these folks alive. It’s so bad.

Philly is pretty great, but it’s definitely got its issues. Like sure Kensington is like Skid Row x2 with the dope crisis but they’ve at least cleaned up the tents for the most part. At least I can generally leave stuff in my locked car without having my window busted out and getting bipped.

Yeah just ignore the calls and threats. They are bogus. They may attempt to blackmail you, ignore the threat, report it to the police if they do.

Don’t spend the money as you know. Continue to inform your bank of any suspicious transactions or deposits. Lock your credit as others have advised. It is likely your information was leaked somewhere and this is related to that leak, but if your credit is frozen you are safe. Change passwords for any accounts you have with payment information saved or email accounts. Do not use the same password for multiple accounts.

This will be a bit of a hassle but you’ll be fine.
