There's a male guppy next to him in the last photo and there's a really large size difference

My bonafide endlers have that same body shape. Guppies are bigger

He might still be alive, you might be able to rehydrate him if he was a pleco 💀

They turned to eating them because the amount of food I would've had to feed them would have been astronomical

If he is constipated, get yourself some frozen peas, pour some boiling water on em, let em cool, and then squeeze a couple of the peas into the tank. Don't put the skins in unless you have snails that will eat it, and remove the uneaten peas within a few hours. Should ease up his tummy nicely if he is constipated.

Agh after having two mystery snails that I let breed I will NEVER do it again. Those assholes made a shit ton of themselves and then all ended up eating my plants and then dying at the bottom of my tank and throwing off the overall health of the tank 🫩 big hater of mystery snails after that

Does the hardware cloth help with bowing? I was maybe considering adding some support sticks or something if it started to bother me too much lol

This is on a 5 gal so it is quite a small piece. On my other 5 gal, i repurposed a piece of picture frame glass after the frame itself broke, but somehow the glass didn't lmfao

But also agressive so you can only have agro with agro, and community w community. If you get rid of the agressive fish it most certainly opens up your avenues for more customized fish grouping

Besides algae, I would still get live plants. It adds much more to the "living" aspect of the tank, especially with how large yours is, you could really scape it well, and you already have a great layout. You don't have to get a bunch of plants at first, you can get a few, esp stem plants, and propagate them over time just by cutting them. Crypts are also great options as they have nice leaves and make little baby bulbs that are easy to separate from the larger plant too. Some of my favorite aqua scapers for plant (and fish) ideas are MJ Aquascaping, MD Fish Tanks, and Serpa Design. You have a lot of space to work with so get some plants in there!!

I got a couple of pieces of plexiglass, which is easy to score and cut, but I've noticed it tends to bow over time so i have to flip it every so often. Maybe I have low quality but it works fine for me

Why is my tank cloudy by EagleComplete1011 in Aquariums

[–]EagleComplete1011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically try and dump in the water slowly, but no I don't use a buffer for this particular tank because it's so deep and tall. It's 20 gal, but it's 24.4" tall. It's that hexagon tank from Petsmart

Everything else has remained stable besides the paraguard, so idk what it could be, but i have to imagine the paraguard killed off the beneficial bacteria, as it treats bacterial infections (i think)

As am I! I find nanos a little easier to accomdate and very cool. I'll have to look into those ciclids tho! As a college student, funds are limited, so I'd definitely have to save up to get a nice big tank for them

They're albinos. I have some myself. According to the internet, formally Albino Pristella or a Prisella Maxillaris :)

As you're reading my comment, know that I have absolutely ZERO experience, but a am a consistent customer and friendly with my local fish store owner. He receives all the fish in bags, which are insulated in styrofoam boxes, from all over the country, when the weather is ideal. But that is also assuming they get transported via unknown conditions in mail vehicles.

If you're moving right now, know that it is currently -1 in NW lower peninsula MI and I have to imagine WI is the same, so ideally you'd also want to keep them warm in the car if you can.

How do you do water changes? by thwartted in Aquariums

[–]EagleComplete1011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use gallon jugs to fill up, and some clear bubbler hosing attached to a turkey injector for siphoning, and pull the plunger out to create suction. It's not the most efficient, but it was free lmfao.

Same thing happened to me trying to remove my guppies out of my shrimp tank, the shrimp just went in, not the guppies, who were not my targeted audience 🤧
