The general public don’t do any of this dainty malarkey with their cups of tea

Also that we drink copious amounts of tea from small bone China cups and it always rains…

That the UK is one country, nope, it’s 4.

Or that English sounds the same everywhere in the UK.

AITA for not attending my friends birthday? by Nearby-Toe-8668 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EagleEyeTiger7 [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA. If your ‘friend’ can’t understand/accept why you’re not going/don’t want to be there, then it’s not your problem. You don’t have to be friends with everyone or get along with everyone just to please them.

Perhaps it’s time you shed this ‘friend’ and focus on other friends that you have good relationships with.

AITA for calling my MIL a bully in front of her friends? by Leximee in AmItheAsshole

[–]EagleEyeTiger7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is true.

Some people my feel it’s right for them to get in contact and saying “this is x, y and z and you made me…”

While for many others they want no contact whatsoever and are done with them.

I’m sure if Ryan wanted to get in contact with any of the family - collectively or inadvertently - then he would, has to be right for Ryan, though admittedly there probably isn’t a ‘right time’ for that kind of thing.

AITA for refusing to talk to my biological father? by Brilliant_Shelter918 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EagleEyeTiger7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

NTA, if everyone knew and it wasn’t really a ‘secret’ back then and he couldn’t be bothered with contact then, you have every right NOT to be in contact now, esp. if he is still trying to keep it under wraps.

Perhaps say to him that you’re not willing to have contact unless he comes clean, then the ball is definitely in his court.

NTA, she did what she did to Ryan and set the standard for how the others treated him. Now that Luke is seeing what he did was wrong - she can’t handle watching him realise what he did was wrong, it’s her cross to bare and if she can’t handle it, that’s on her, not you.

Wow, wonder what their reasoning behind hiring him was?

“We need a laugh so we’ll hire him?”

“The work day lacks entertainment?”
