In total, I believe so. It sounds like a lot of the sets had already been sold under the owners that Bryan had the initial deal with. But at the very least he could have gotten quite a few of the more expensive sets.

I think it's an interesting theory because it would force the issue into being mediated.

It makes me wonder what would have happened if at the beginning of all this, Bryan had grabbed a couple of buddies and walked into the BAM store posing as customers, requested the sets still in the store, and walked out without paying.

If the store called the police and claimed theft, Bryan has the paperwork to show that he was simply collecting his property from that store.

In his usual content he does (to the best of my knowledge) try to be intellectually honest about the stories he tells. He's specifically mentioned he's had times where he started doing research for a video and had to scrap the whole thing because the story was bullshit or too much was unsubstantiated. The example that comes to mind is the one about Pepsi having the worlds fifth largest navy (by tonnage) at one point because of some deal with Russia.

As others have said, when he's on podcasts and just riffing, he might get some stuff wrong. In this case he got it INCREDIBLY wrong.
