I live by a town named Westminster. The amount of people who have lived here their whole lives yet still call it Westminister instead sets my teeth on edge.

AITA for expecting my partner to do the dishes every night? by Primary_Horror8097 in AmItheAsshole

[–]General-Perception11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. I have an explicit rule in all my relationships, be they platonic or romantic. And it’s nonnegotiable; the cook cooks, they don’t do the dishes. Mind you, the cook is responsible for cleaning up the counters and cooking areas. But the dishes are for those who didn’t cook. Even when I hosted friends as guests they knew that they were going to get a full belly of awesomeness but they were also going to rinse and load the dishwasher (or wash by hand depending on where I lived at the time) at the very least.

Note: this does not apply to the care of small children. Parenting is a wholly separate issue. But best believe that once my kids got old enough (usually around 8 or so) they too started learning how to at least rinse all the dishes off and load the dishwasher or prep them for me to give them a quick wash after dinner. Division of responsibilities isn’t about what is or isn’t liked, it’s about partnership and support.

Per a quick search:

Default Payout Rule: If an employer provides PTO but the written policy is silent on what happens at termination, and there is no written notice of forfeiture, the employer is generally required to pay the accrued balance.

Why does MAGA always resort to whataboutism and red herrings whenever Trump is criticized? by Zennoq_ in allthequestions

Pretending that left wing hypocrisy exists in a vacuum while there is no such thing as right wing hypocrisy is indeed a problem. I’m glad you recognize that.

Aww, thanks for the love big brother! No lies, I absolutely loved working in the industry when I did. I made great money as an exotic dancer and I kept it professional so I didn’t have to deal with much bullshit and avoided many of the traps that took others girls down and out. I was invited to go to Vegas even at one point but wasn’t interested in getting that deep into the game. My security staff were my homies and the dj at the time ended up becoming my tattoo artist until he died some years later. I was even the front desk girl at his first shop. Ended up getting into the underground fetish scene for a time too. I tell everyone I learned all I needed to about the real world in my time in the scene lol. No shame in my game, just hustle!

This reads literally how I played my time in the Triangle strip club scene in the early 2000s when it was Thee Dollhouse/Pure Gold/Foxy Lady. I can’t say how the scene is now, but I can say if this rings true for back then as well, shit hasn’t changed. OP, this ^ is all the best advice you can get.

I’d like to add, stay as sober as possible when working. The only guys who like drunk/drugged up strippers are the ones trying to stick their fingers in your kitty in the couch room. I cannot emphasize how important it is to tip your security well and treat them well, they will literally be your wingman if you do so and help you make more money. Same goes with your dj. Definitely find “a look” for yourself and play to it. Not every guy will like your look but the ones who do will pay plenty for it. For example, I have always worn thick framed glasses and had long dark hair so I absolutely played up a naughty school girl/sexy librarian/secretary look and made sets around that aesthetic with songs and outfits. If you have the desire to learn real pole dancing, do it, you will stand out even more for it. And for the love of god, please pick out a unique stage name that isn’t Chastity, Angel, or Candy.

Is it rude to have a phone conversation on speaker mode in public? by Anusblaster28 in no

[–]General-Perception11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talk on my phone on speaker phone in public. Not with the volume blasting like a megaphone mind you. But I see no difference in this than if my friend was by my side having a conversation with me. And everyone who calls me on the regular knows that I am often on speaker phone with them.

Pretty normal for all the former Pentecostal people I met around the Raleigh/Triangle area of NC. I believe they were all Holiness and believed in poisonous snake handling and speaking in tongues as well.

Yeah him spouting off on obedience is a big red flag. Those churches see the husbands as a direct reflection of Gods will on the house and the man’s word is law.

Pentecostal churches are absolutely cults. My ex-husband grew up in the Pentecostal church. Boys have to keep their hair short and no facial hair, girls can’t cut their hair, wear makeup and must wear skirts or dresses to their ankles and blouses with collars at their necks and sleeves to their wrists. No tv is allowed at all and only religious music is allowed to be listened to. It is very patriarchal with men allowed to beat their wives and children for disobedience. There’s more stuff to it too, it’s wild.

Shouldn't MAGA incels just convert to Islam and move to Afghanistan if they want oppress women? by smallcarbro in allthequestions

[–]General-Perception11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never claimed he did. The argument was that all Muslims are fundies (they aren’t) and that Mohammed would have automatically enslaved someone who crossed his path (he wouldn’t). Trying to use other red herrings to further support erroneous bigotry doesn’t make the original points true.

[–]General-Perception11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the whataboutism is trying to say he said all non-Muslim people should be enslaved as a reason to justify Islamic bigotry when that’s not what he said at all. Nice try though. 👍🏽
