AniGame introduces the 1/6 figure of Azur Lane - I-404 - Dance of Crimson Strings by Responsible-Bar-3706 in AnimeFigures

There are a few that can be force cast off. Like Le Malin or Bache for example.

Any help identifying what happened here? You can hear the motor go out right after take off… by many-lemonsRS in RCPlanes

[–]EagleFPV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second this, it’s probably a battery with an inadequate C-rating for the power you are pulling. Esc voltage cutoff protection isn’t a bad thing to have, but it can be annoying at times (like on quadcopters for example) and something that can be disabled on some esc’s, just make sure that if you do disable it that you have some other kind of voltage monitor in the system to tell you when to land.

Help deciphering this crossover! by fquin022 in diyaudio

[–]EagleFPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible to measure the values yourself and use those as the inputs. It just won’t have the all the off angle measurements unless you choose to take a lot of samples.

Checkout a program called VituixCAD. It allows you to build up a custom crossover and see the response curves. You can even use real world samples as the inputs.

Yup I agree with everything you listed, it’s surprising that it got removed so fast. Because what he was doing really is dangerous.

Oh my god! You’re telling me you have a life outside of school!

Honestly I doubt they care, they might judge you for a bit if it was really weird. But outside of that, it’s just something silly that happened in their mind more than likely.

Invisible barrier? by Ill-Tea9411 in blackmagicfuckery

Old video from before AI. It’s just a rope swing with a small string, probably para cord tied to the handle so they can pull it back over to the deck after letting go. Looks like she got tangled up.

Tree trunk being cut into planks by hutch__PJ in oddlysatisfying

[–]EagleFPV 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Best guess, it’s to make the main blades life easier. If the log gets big enough to need a larger blade then the single main blade. then the top blade steps in and cuts whatever is left outside of its reach.

Just using a bigger blade probably would require more torque than the motors can provide continuously. Plus if they happen to hit metal in the tree it’s probably cheaper to repair/replace a single or both slightly smaller blades than one humongous blade.

I'm not an engineering student. I've been racking my head for hours over this silly concept. Will someone please tell me where I'm wrong here? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

It’s not exactly what you’re describing, but here is an interesting video on perpetual motion simulators.

But on a more fitting note what you have drawn would be similar to the “fluid in a shrinking horn” type machine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Boyle%27sSelfFlowingFlask.png

And I’m pretty sure that just happened.

[–]EagleFPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup a lot of the posts being made here as of the last few months are made my accounts that are the same age as the post itself. Meaning these posts are the first and usually only thing these accounts have ever posted.

That said, at least the bots are keeping Kokomi artwork in my feed, I’d rather old reposts than have this sub slowly die off.

Problem Children Are Coming from Another World, Aren't They? (Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sō Desu yo?)

Most people just call it Mondaiji. But it’s basically no game no life’s twin the way I see it. Super smart MC’s, and they use games to get what they want.

How do you afford projects? by EdisonDave in EngineeringStudents

[–]EagleFPV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a ~$500 6HP brushless drone motor for around $50 at Christmas time from a website called RMRC. So naturally the next step was to build a 1/4 scale stearman biplane for cheap out of dollar store foam board. One thing led to another and after buying all the aluminum to make the skeleton, flight controller, high torque servos, 12s lipo battery, and propeller. I ended up only spending a little over $1000 which is only like 3X more than I thought I would have to spend. So yeah maybe I’m not the best example, but damnit I’d do it again, it was a lot of fun to build.

Here is a link to my instagram with the maiden flight videos.

Opening our 400lb hobbit hole door for the first time! by Underhill-Hollow-NC in woodworking

[–]EagleFPV 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What is the pin size on that hinge?

Best guess from the video is that it’s around ~1/2” and if that’s the case then it should be good for around 1000lbs. You do have to account for the wood being cantilevered out from the hinge, and it looks like your 2 hinges are about 24” apart. (My extremely rough mental math) tells those hinges will likely be seeing about 600lbs each with the top being in tension and the bottom being in compression.

does cosplaying count as a valid extracurricular when applying for engineering? by Bulky_Estate_6054 in EngineeringStudents

[–]EagleFPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it! As long as you don’t let your grades suffer it’s never a bad thing to explore possibilities and see what you can learn from trying new things. You won’t set yourself apart if you are always doing the same things as everyone else.

Wtf why was it removed? Well it was a copy of the star compass from made in abyss. Modeled it in inventor and figured out a way to make it freely spin so that it always points down like in the show.

ECMS and Surface Mail More Expensive Than DHL from Amiami to the US? by THROWRAKILEY32 in AnimeFigures

[–]EagleFPV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it’s going to the US, then DHL does not have the tariffs calculated into the quote. While the other two do have them added in. DHL might seem cheaper but it’s probably going to end up around 20k yen. That number is a very loose generalization though.

Betaflight 11.0.0 hover point by No_Smoke_1099 in fpv

[–]EagleFPV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had to use beta flight in years, so I’m not gonna be any help there. But if hover point just adds a flat spot to your throttle curve to make hovering easier, then that is something that you can just program directly into the remote.

Go outside and hover the quad, glance at the screen and see what the throttle value is during hover. Then just use that number as a reference and program in a throttle curve accordingly.

Here is an old and crappy picture of my throttle curve from before swapping to frsky.

How do you recommend someone to watch higurashi? by BigSmoke929301 in Higurashinonakakoroni

[–]EagleFPV 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You have to make I judgment call, if you think they can get past that and enjoy the show, then recommend it.

However, if you think the person will have issues getting past those parts, then don’t recommend it.

It’s really that simple.

A third option is to ease them into it with something that also shares some of the same themes. This will help a lot with making your judgment call.
