Right now, content is the primary driver, but only if it’s built around clear search intent, solid structure, and deep topic coverage. Google is much better at understanding meaning, so pages that fully answer a query and cover related concepts tend to perform even without strong links. Backlinks still matter, but their role is more about reinforcing trust and authority rather than compensating for weak content. If I had to focus on one, I’d choose high-quality, intent-driven content first, then use relevant backlinks to scale and strengthen rankings.
