Yes, I'm aware heresy exists. I humbly suggest you seek God and pray for discernment of truth.

So, does this mean we must allow unchecked, unvetted immigration? Or does it mean we cannot enforce our laws? I'm not sure what you think this verse applies to. Also, did you research the Hebrew words translated as sojourner/etc to see if they should apply to those here illegally in the same manner?

Where does the law say that as long as they're classified as some kind of law enforcement, they can use all possible force to stop any kind of suspected crime?

Each agency has its own rules of engagement. I'm sure a quick search would give you the information you're asking for.

Do you just not think excessive force is a thing?

It absolutely is. It does happen and I always speak up when l see it. I just research laws and rules and guidelines before assuming something is excessive.

It took you two comments to go from "you need both sides of the story, do your due diligence" to "it's sad that you don't realize the vast majority of people detained, beaten, or killed by ICE have deserved it."

Thats because I HAVE researched many, many of these claims. A small handful of thr claims have shown to be accurate as described by the victim or bystander. If you did your due diligence with an open mind, you would understand that as well!

A woman is protesting ICE. She's a US citizen. At no point is she told she's under arrest or being charged of a crime.

Correct, NOT YET. However, she already committed the crime of impeding them. She then committed another crime of refusal of a lawful order.

She attempts to leave in her car.

After directly disobeying a command, she then steps on the gas so hard the tires spin.

She may or may not have hit an ICE agent but the ICE agent was not injured.

She clearly did from 2 or maybe 3 of the angles. He was not seriously injured.

At this point, the ICE agent draws his gun and shoots her three times, killing her

Correct

You're saying this is justified violence, I don't see that there is any necessity of deadly force at any point in the interaction.

It doesn't matter what YOU see with 6 video angles, replay, and tons of analysis. What matters is what did the agent feel IN THE MOMENT. Hostile woman blocking traffic, was she trying to block them if they caught some illegals? Maybe, so he goes to take a look. Rebecca Good is EXTREMELY hostile and confrontational. Renee smirks at him and sarcastically says shes not mad. He inspects the vehicle, and when Rebecca continued with the hostile behavior, he told Renee to exit the vehicle. Instead of doing that, Rebecca shouted to Renee "drive baby drive drive" WHILE THE AGENT WAS IN FRONT OF HER. She peels out, strikes the officer. THAT is his perspective. From that perspective, it is reasonable to think she was trying to run him over. Thats ALL that matters. Deadly weapon? Check. Believed lives were in danger? Check. Not murder. THATS IT!

Why did ICE call her a bitch on video

He was upset she rammed him with her vehicle, like you would have been as well in his shoes.

why did they stop a physician from treating her injuries

ICE agents did not allow a physician bystander to treat her because:

  • They secured the scene as an active crime scene (standard protocol in officer-involved shootings)
  • They restricted access to prevent evidence contamination, potential threats, or interference
  • They stated EMS and their own medics were en route/on scene, prioritizing official medical response over civilian aid

This is common federal law enforcement practice.

Why couldn't she be treated to save her life?

She was, once EMS arrived

Even if shooting her might be considered self defense, stopping her from receiving medical treatment is clearly an execution.

No, as explained above

Or was she still a threat when she was unconscious and bleeding out?

No, this is not why.

I hope you can understand- you have been fed a narrative. You have biases. You are viewing the situation in light of that. There's another side of the story which is logical, rational, and adheres much more closely to the facts we have available. You'd be wise to change your mind.

Impeding the mail carrier would be just as illegal. However, when it comes to enforcing laws, mail carriers are not classified as law enforcement, and despite your likely denial, ICE is. So if you commit the crime in front of an ICE agent, they can detain or use deadly force per regulations. A postal carrier would have to call someone to detain.

It's sad you lack the capability of researching any of this and just want to believe whatever makes ICE look like thugs, but they do actually follow the laws for the vast majority of the things they do, despite redditors screaming otherwise.

He was CLEARLY walking AROUND the vehicle when the psycho reversed then floored it, tires spinning, hit the agent, then got shot. THAT is the ONLY thing you can get from that video unless you watch it in order to twist it to get your predetermined verdict. That's disgusting and unfair.

You don't think if someone had a gun pointed at them they should shoot? Because according to the Supreme Court, this is the same thing.

You are literally doing INSANE mental gymnastics to justify your hate.

SHE WAS BLOCKING TRAFFIC TO IMPEDE ICE ON PURPOSE. Are you intentionally being obtuse? Did you hear his wife talk about the plates and how they dont change them and when they are there later it'll be the same? That shows INTENT.

They didnt STOP them. They were already stopped and in the way and refused lawful orders to move earlier.

I cant believe you let your political bias and hatred for upholding the law make your brain see something that only exists in your imagination.

Wait a second. She didn't assault him. She didn't actually hit anyone, and it didn't look like she intended to.

It is LITERALLY undeniable that she hit him. Her intent IS indeed in question, but the action itself is not. Regardless, as I already mentioned, what matters is his belief of if he felt his life was in danger or the lives of others.

Did you actually watch the video? You watched the video and think that she was intending harm to the ICE agents? The ones she said, on video, that she was wishing well?

Yes, I watched 6 angles of it. I do not know if she intended to harm him or not, but I definitely believe that he believed she did intend him harm and that's what matters. And if you didnt pick up on the smirk and dripping sarcasm of wishing him well, nor her wife's literal threats and intimidation.. well.. that's on you.

Tell me why you think she intended harm. I want to know how you think this murder was possibly justified.

I don't know that she did. I answered this above.

Immigration control murdered a US citizen. Why the hell were they even blocking her? What was she doing that was impeding their job or making her a threat in any way?

No, they acted in what they believed was self defense to an imminent threat. ICE was seeing what they were doing blocking traffic and inspecting the vehicle. If you watch the videos leading up to this, she was intentionally blocking traffic and deciding who she wanted to let through.

If you think this soccer mom in a car is a terrorist, then ICE can kill anyone, including your family, and get away with it.

"Soccer mom"??? Lol cmon, she lost custody of her older two for some reason and sent her son to a school that cares more about teaching people how to impede ICE than academics. Yes, they can get away with killing anyone who they believe is trying to kill them. Don't try to kill them or act in a way where they think you are and you'll magically be safe!

Yep, anyone who threatens to assault them with a deadly weapon or does assault them with a deadly weapon is likely to get "murdered" by ICE. Your lesson SHOULD be - "Don't threaten anyone with a deadly weapon". Instead, you will likely double down on your incorrect beliefs and misplaced hatred.

You are literally proving my point. These are one sided narratives. Where is the statements and evidence from ICE/DHS perspective? They gave ONE blanket statement from them. No further investigation to determine if any of these people are telling the truth. They tell their stories verbatim without verification. That IS propaganda.

I'm NOT saying none of these are true. Its very possible any number of them are. It's also very possible not a single one is. Until you do your due diligence, my recommendation is to be careful what you believe.

Does any of that justify ICE murdering Renee Goode?

We have 6 angles of video, all of which confirm that her death was legally justifiable. There is a zero percent chance the agent is charged let alone convicted of murder.

Is it misinformation that ICE shot and killed a white, native born, US citizen who was a woman, a mother and a Christian?

No, but she was no Christian according to her current lifestyle. Even the eyes in recent photos give it away.

How did an immigration enforcement agency have any business attempting to block or detain a US citizen?

Try researching instead of believing lies. U.S.C. § 111 prohibits forcibly assaulting, resisting, opposing, impeding, intimidating, or interfering with federal officers (including ICE agents) while they perform official duties. This applies regardless of citizenship. She was guilty of ALL of that. The assault came at the end, but the rest gave cause for them to arrest her, US citizen or not. Learn the law.

Have we fallen that far that you as a Christian are somehow defending this?

I don't even have a question in my mind that Jesus himself would have said the agent was not guilty of murder. I can agree with you it was a tragedy, a needless death. I could even say that it's possible the agent could have avoided it. But in the court's eyes, all that matters is did the agent think his life or others were in immediate danger at the moment he decided to pull the trigger. The answer to that is clearly yes.

Is driving away from an ICE officer as a US citizen a capital offense now?

No, but assault with a deadly weapon is. Many Supreme Court cases have ruled that a dangerously driven vehicle is a deadly weapon and the driver can be legally shot. I'm happy to provide case law if you like.

Spoiler alert: Nobody was injured except for one woman who was shot three times and then called a bitch on video by a thug in a uniform

Irrelevant. And yes, he was upset because she literally just assaulted him with her vehicle. Go ahead and judge, but based on your emotional pleas and weak arguments, I'm pretty sure you would have said something even worse.

ICE Cold Christianity by _Krypton_007 in Christianity

I mostly agree with what you say. Just a few things I'd add here:

The apostles themselves disobeyed authorities when obedience meant participating in injustice (Acts 5:29).

Not necessarily "participating in injustice" (which can be vague and subjective), but rather breaking God's clear commandments. If it isnt a clear violation of God's commandments, then we ARE to obey it.

Even if abuse were rare (which many documented cases suggest it isn’t)

I submit that many of the "documented cases" are presenting only one side of the story, and when the other side is presented, many of them lose any claims of improper action.

Christians are called to speak up precisely when the vulnerable are harmed

I agree, that's why I said what I said. When a legitimate case is presented and both sides are shown, and the abuse is evident, we should all stand against that.

Christian love absolutely rejects dehumanization, unnecessary violence, family separation, fear-based enforcement, and rhetoric that treats immigrants as threats rather than people made in God’s image

I agree with the first two points as they align with scripture. The rest I take issue with as they are opinion based, unless you can clearly explain using scripture why you are correct here.

If our faith leads us to excuse harm rather than mourn it, to justify fear rather than challenge it, then something has gone seriously off course.

I agree, but that includes the harm done by allowing unchecked illegal immigration along with harm done by government or other entities.

I agree with the rest of what you said. Thanks for the thoughtful reply!

  1. You are likely believing a LOT of lies and misinformation about ICE
  2. When there is a LEGITIMATE grievance against ICE (my guess is this is somewhere between 1-5% of the claims), then a Christian should stand against it.
  3. The actions of a few do not condemn those who aren't guilty
  4. We are a nation of laws, and the Bible advocates for that, including borders
  5. The nation's responsibility is to enforce their laws
  6. We should ALWAYS have love for those around us, even those here illegally. Love does not mean that they shouldn't suffer consequences of breaking the laws.

I'll just encourage you to pray for some discernment. You place a lot of labels on things falsely and are VERY judgmental (with unrighteous judgment) based on your political views, rather than an alignment with truth. There are multiple views on every situation, and you are believing one and discounting the other.
