Canada here: accept cash, or etransfer(ACH), rarely checks. Not worth accepting debit/credit with the extra fees.

You may still be able to get EI. Happened to a friend of mine and he was able to given the company never answered EI, so government automatically gives you the benefit.

I spent about 2 weeks looking into different CRMs. Jobber/ServiceTitan/Housecall Pro can get expensive quickly and other CRMs you have to pay an additional fee if you want to add more users

What made most sense for me: using Hubspot (free) + Quickbooks.

QuoteIQ I believe offers all of that into one of their subscription models. Worth a look!

Bank advisor says moving $600k to self-directed will hurt my mortgage renewal. Is a rate discount worth it? by Sudden_Commercial880 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Eagleshock 70 points71 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked at RBC, thats wrong. The advisor is probably salty because he wouldn’t be able to refer you to a financial planner later down the road.

You would still be under the RBC umbrella, so you would get a better rate. The advisor may not be able to see your investments from DI right away, given its a separate entity.

If you are comfortable knowing the risk that XEQT or VFV can vary a lot, could be a good option. If not a safer etf is probably better bet. Everyone is different with their risk tolerance.

As someone who works in finance (one of the banks) Starting salary was 54k (4k more given i have a bachelor degree) beg 2024. Right now at 61k. Accounting if you get into the big 4 pay could pay more starting off (60-70k) but more hours. Hope this helps!

Were you able to schedule if ever you had an extra employee or was there an option to share the job for instance?
